I think the video is more telling...he is humble

Q: What do you think about the Chiefs and this receiving corps?

ASHLEY LELIE: ďItís a good group of guys, talented. And with coach coming in, his Super Bowl experience, weíve got a chance to win, itís something special.Ē

Q: You donít feel like itís too late for you to be able to get into the mix?

LELIE: ďI donít think it is. Especially with the coaches bringing me in, they must not think so either. They think I have a pretty good shot.Ē

Q: Are you still the player you were early in your career with Denver? Do you still have those skills?

LELIE: ďOh, definitely. Especially, because Iím so fresh. I havenít really had any major injuries. My body still hasnít been banged up. So I still feel like Iím 23 out there.

Q: How long do you figure it will take you to get to know the playbook?

LELIE: ďA couple days. Especially with the way camp is and the way everything is kind of drilled on you so hard, you canít help but to absorb it. Everybody kind of runs similar concepts, they might not call it the same, but once you see it on the field and through the pictures, and start putting the process together, you can just put a different label on it. It shouldnít be too hard picking up the plays.

Q: What did you like about your first day with the Chiefs at training camp?

LELIE: ďIt feels good, just to kind of be able to sit back and see the talent that the team has at all positions. With the experience of the coaching staff, something special could happen here.Ē

Q: Expectation-wise for you, how quickly integrated with the offense?

LELIE: ďWith the offense, hopefully by the end of this week. Getting my playbook every chance I get to look over the contents again. And with the season, definitely just making the roster, making the roster and helping this team win.Ē

Q: This has to be a fun offense to come in to under Coach Haley?

LELIE: ďEspecially as a receiver, you want to catch balls. With Coach Haley and you have (QB Matt) Cassel here, showing what he did last year, itís nice.Ē

Q: What has time been like while youíre waiting to try out for team? What did you do to stay in shape?

LELIE: ďRunning whenever I can. Iíll go play basketball. Whatever I can do to keep that competitive edge, Iíll do. Itís kind of hard when youíre by yourself, to motivate yourself to keep running while youíre waiting for that call. You just have to stay hungry and be ready.Ē

My dream scenario is Lelie becoming a solid reciever and pissing off donkey fans.

To say the least, but I hope it works out.

I think the most important detail of this signing that is widely being overlooked by a multitude of individuals is..........who the fuck names their son Ashley?

The good news is he's still fresh and has ability, and seems to know that this may be his last shot.

The bad news is no one else seriously was pursuing him and he seems to have been on list 2 of the Chiefs Wide Receiver search.

We'll see. Hopefully this turns into more of an Eddie Kennison deal than a Freddie Mitchell deal...
