If my memory is correct the old Municple Stadium had a section called "the Wolf Pack" Does anyone remember the history of that section. I have a feeling that is how KC Wolf evloved.

Myself, I always thought Warpaint was a cool mascot, but I guess it was too expensive to clean horse piss from astroturf?

I'm pretty sure KC Wolf is Clark Hunt. Have you ever seen him on TV during a game?

I always chuckle at the story told by John Madden about a game where he thought he was going to be a part of killing Warpaint. He was talking about a game where KC scored so many points on them he thought they were going to run that damn horse to death.

Didn't they have to stop using Warpaint due to legal issues with native americans?

Are you suggesting that the Indians sued the Chiefs because somebody was riding a horse on Sundays?

I imagine it was because of all of the horseshit on the field.

The Wolfpack was a section of temporary bleachers that ran across the outfield of old Municipal Stadium, that ran down the length of the field on one sideline. Back then, both benches were on the same side of the field, in front of the Wolf Pack. One team had from the 50 to one end zone sideline, the other team had the other half. Wolfpack fans were notoriously rowdy. There were two other cool sections; "Stenarud's Roost" in the right field corner behind one end zone, and the Huddle Club in the other end zone behind the 3rd base line, a special section just for kids. All that changed with the move to Arrowhead.

KC Wolf is a great mascot compared to what the Chiefs had in the past.

Here's a history of the Cheerleaders and mascots:

A guy named Dan Meers in KC Wolf. He was also Truman Tiger at Mizzou and Fred Bird for the Cardinals before coming to KC. Good gig, eh?
