They don't do near as much rumor mongering as they used to. They pretty much just report the news and offer insight.

From the Athan prediction is my guess.

Nick didn't predict anything in regards to Dorsey.

Only that the Chiefs attempted to trade him around the draft. And they did.

My guess is that statement transformed into this report.

Over the last few years PFT has become one of the more reputable sites. They are one of the better sites for NFL news.

Why are people speculating that Athan's report generated this story, when the story specifically says:

"Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald suggested Dorsey as a possible target last week, so it's interesting that Hurney is now at the Chiefs game. It could just be a coincidence, but it's more fun to irresponsibly speculate as to who Hurney is looking at."

PFT is relying on Darin Gantt and the fact that a Panthers exec went to watch the Minny game in person.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Chiefs tried to trade Dorsey at all.

But Carolina doesn't have a first round pick next year they traded that away to move up to get Everette Brown so the best they could do would be a 2nd rounder and I don't think that is good enough.

How about a #2 AND a player?

That's my fault. I did not read the article and made an assumption. Apologies.

How about a #2 AND a player?

Could be but it better a pretty good player.

We could then use this extra 2nd round pick to send to Denver along with Croyle for Marshall. :)

They are now part of NBC sports. I dunno if anything has really changed, I take everything as rumors. Not a bad site to go to for a time waster.

I think Pioli is willing to trade anyone. He already traded Tony G. If a good offer is on the table take a look/listen. BTW I would guess Matt is safe, but if someone offered a 1 who knows. No one being safe is the Patriot way.

Considering how big of a signing bonus he got last year, i would be very surprised if Dorsey got traded this year.

What changed? Florio ended up with a lot of connections to a lot of legitimate sources and tempered down his reporting to clearly indicate when a source provided info (and usually the source) and when he is just speculating on something.

Not as big of an issue as usual given the Chiefs cap space; of course, Clark prolly doesn't just wnat to piss away that kind of coin.

Yeah, but you know how it is in a marriage. Sometimes once the nastiness begins it just can't be fixed. Maybe he just wants out.

No.

The contract negotiations weren't going well, leading Peppers to want out.

He was hoping to get to a team that plays a 34.

It's nice to speculate (How 'bout Dorsey for Otah?), but Carolina is most assuredly looking for a nose not a 3-technique. Kemoeatu is a very different player then what Dorsey would bring to that D.

Seems like a good way to run things too. Keeps these rich bastards from getting complacent. Keeps them hungry for championships and better production.

I don't really pay attention to this stuff. Fact of the matter is, for Pioli, everyone is on the trading block. However, no one goes anywhere without the right price.

Glenn Dorsey for the Panthers' #2 and (OLB) Thomas Davis?

Glenn Dorsey/Eric Ghiaciuc for the Panthers' #2, (C) Ryan Kalil & (KR/PR) Ryne Robinson?

Question being... Why would they do it?
They have two REALLY good RB's.
Stewart found paydirt 10 times last year.

Johnson isn't going to be a featured back there and really isn't much a complement... Doesn't make sense.

Micjones

The first being my ideal trade.
I'd settle for the latter option though.
Robinson's a pretty good returnman.

Your right a team is going to gives us a 1st for Dorsey. Chris Mortsen said there are rumors that the Panthers are intrested in Corey Williams and Glen Dorsey. He said the Dorsey rumor wasn't confirmed though.

Personally, I think Hali and Mays are kicking ass with Dorsey in front of them. And our overall starting defense is looking better than it has in a long time. Keep him.

It has nothing to do with the switch to the 3-4. Nothing at all.

And picking a RB who isn't a freakish player, someone on the level of AP and nothing below, is still unbelievably stupid.

I don't think he gets traded this season. However, I would not be surprised if the Chiefs use this season to build him up as a 4-3 DT and boost his trade value so they can trade him next offseason.

I don't see Pendergast's defense as anything but a transition defense, so I don't see Dorsey's role in KC past the transition period. And as they transition, Dorsey has a lot of time to prove his worth. If he can play flash anywhere near the potential of Dockett, I think he could get a first in return.

TheGuardian
08-22-2009, 06:25 PM
Dorsey isn't getting traded. And the guy has been looking very good in the new defense. Just like I said he would.

The cap hit would be enormous and the fact is we don't have good depth on the defensive line AS IS. Plus how do you determine the value of a guy who was a top 5 pick a year ago at the hardest position to play on defense in his second season? You sure as hell don't give him up for a 2nd round pick.

The dumbasses that said Dorsey was a bust are already eating crow on him IMO. Two games now and two good reviews for him. The guy is going to be a damn fine player. F the idiots who called him a bust here.
