Dalton dismissed from MU football program
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel announced in a written release Friday morning that backup quarterback Blaine Dalton has been dismissed from the Tigers program for violation of "unspecified team conduct policies."

Dalton was arrested at 1:26 a.m. Friday morning by University of Missouri police and charged with driving under the influence.

The freshman from Blue Springs, Mo., made headlines last spring when he was arrested by Columbia police on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. The vehicle was later found to have inside the prescription painkiller Hydrocodone and alcohol. Pinkel suspended Dalton indefinitely following the news coming out on May 1 before reinstating him June 2.

Dalton was the 12th best quarterback in the nation in last year's class, according to Rivals.com.

According to the release, no further comment will be made.

wow not gonna lie this kid deserves it. no matter how good of a athlete he is i remember blocking for this kid in high school. great young football player but honestly he is just not that smart i mean come on if your nickname in highschool is cocaine blaine something is obviously not right and the sad thing is he didnt even get to take a step on the field in a real game. really disappointing i hate seeing kids my age throw great chances down the drain for stupid stuff like this and it happens more then you think.

Good he sucks anyways. He's from South, therefore he can go to hell.

Having that said Greg Oder was my Jr high basketball coach. Love that guy to death.....he's a great coach. It's just a shame he has to coach such a shitfest of a school.

He was the third stringers and was probably going to RS this year. His prospects were also looking dim after James Franklin committed with a verbal for next season. I was rooting for the guy. It seems like he has had some problems for a while and this was the last straw.

He coached at Brittany Hill Middle School back in 199, he was there for a few years before that I think as well. His last year was my year in 97 though.

Well, he was a pretty talented QB that physically was similar to Chase Daniel, so potentially he could have been a great QB for MU. He didn't really put it together this off season, and with a real highly ranked QB coming in a year before and another signed on to come in a year after him, things were looking grim. Even so, with a player as talented as Dalton, we will never know how good he could have been.

in the time he was at south until now this is his list of crimes that i can remember atleast

4 dui's
felony possession of controlled substance
several MIP's

not to mention all of the random stories that you hear about partys and doing coke on the way to the state game on the bus.... but you know everyone goes through that all the time.... :lame:

From what I was hearing, he was battling Costello for the #2 spot and it was Glaser that was going to RS. Not anymore I guess.

Up until today, all I read was that Costello was clearly the #2, and it looked like Dalton might RS. All of a sudden today I hear dumbass radio personalities in KC talking about how Dalton was the backup QB.
