We have a customer who wants to create an online community for his industry.

vBulletin has been suggested as the tool to use.

You will work with our development team to create site and set-up ongoing update/maintenance lists.

This is a 1099 project with all IP belonging to the Customer once you have been paid.

Please PM your contact info, expertise, and desired compensation.

Raider fans need not apply. :)

Thanks

I ran a vBull site for a lot of years. Plus I'm not a firefighter.

Honestly you're probably going to want a good artist and an OK coder/admin person.

I'd agree with that. Getting it up and running isn't tough. Getting it looking good is.

Is Chris the guy who took his girl to the fire station?

Especially considering they're starting from scratch.

It's really easy to setup, I'm just not sure why a company would want one rather than a content management system with an integrated forum like dotnetnuke.

Good point.

They are leaning towards Drupal.

But they want to also look at VBull.

I would recommend against dotnetnuke and its horrible load times. As for content management, it is massively overused today.
