View Full Version : Chiefs Why are Copper and Lawrence still on this team?

Mr. Krab

I had hoped that this new administration would be above the game of "keep the guy because he's MY GUY" bullshit. I guess they aren't because imo Lelie showed more in 2 weeks that both copper and lawrence showed all preseason combined.

Didn't lawrence have more drops then catches?

Beside the point, they think that copper/lawrence > Lelie, whatever way you shake it out.

It's not like either guy is gonna get snagged by another team, just cut them and put their worthless asses on the PS. Keep the better player(Lelie) and then cut him later if you claim a better player off of waivers.

because these guys are probably more open to be molded by whatever the coaches want and ask for, thus they have a bigger upside. ya know it's nice to have a few grooming projects on your team, no matter how shitty they are. all the good teams have guys like this and before you know it they are fit to replace some over the hill 30 something near the end of his big contract.

Lawrence has potential. When he actually caught the ball, good things happened.

Copper is a special teams standout.

Other than that there appears to be little reason. I would wager a large amount of money we don't enter the regular season with five receivers.

A wide receiver that can't catch is worthless.

I think people are misunderstanding, this isn't about me liking Lelie. This is about Lawrence being one snap from being our starting WR. Given that fact that Bradley can't seem to stay healthy it might be sooner than some think.

Bowe
Bradley
Engram
Lawrence
Copper

Game 1 - Raven Bradley catches a slant pass and Reed knocks him the fug out and boom, Bowe and Lawrence are now our starting WR's with Engrams running in the slot.

Hey, if the Chiefs have determine that Lawrence is gone after they make a waiver claim then fine. But right now Lelie is the better receiver and i don't know why they are dicking around with keeping Lawrence on the team. Move him to the PS and get it over with. Lelie can't go to the PS and should on our roster until we sign someone better. imo.

Haley and Pioli were sitting in the big office this afternoon absolutely torn over what they would do. Haley liked Lelie, and all the upside this guy has...and especially loved that he could scream at a man named Ashley for 4 hours a day. Just when they were ready to drop the hammer on Copper or Lawrence, Pioli logged onto Chiefs Planet and saw how excited one Mr. Krab was about Lelie. Out of pure spite and a desire to ruin this franchise, he dialed Ray Farmer and had him deliver the bad news to Ashley. They're BOTH far enough down the depth chart that neither one makes a significant contribution to the offense. That means that amazing speed and QB-friendly targetness that Lelie supposedly possesses is now worthless to the team. That means he has NOTHING.

And don't bring up the "what if a WR gets injured' bullshit. We're talking week to week. Let's assume no WR injuries happen until week 6. Wouldn't it be great to have special teams help those 6 weeks instead of NOTHING?
