i dont follow college fb well but from what ive seen OU looks terrible out there. the score doesnt indicate it, but they arent playing good defense. at all. bradford cant get anything going. the line sucks. they had like 3 false starts in a row on the first drive. i realize they lost some players and that its just the first game, but they look NOTHING like last year.

:spock:

You realize they're playing a top 20 team? The first game of the season?

Expected playing a good BYU team. New offensive line. Defense being this porous, with as many returning starters, is disappointing.

Bet Bradford is wishing he declared right about now. Guess USC will be moving up in the rankings SOONER than expected.

He wasnt ready, a chance you take when you try to make yourself better.

I don't blame him for staying at OU. Just a terrible result from it rather early in his RS Junior season.

Yeah, that was a completely crappy game.

And I've seen flag football games with less flags on the field (terrible pun--actually, no, I don't even think that counts as a pun, but it was terrible, I apologize... you get my point... moving on). I don't even remember the name of #70, but this week in practice he needs to be in his stance just sitting there, not moving for hours... I've never seen a lineman so jumpy, first year starter or no.

The solace I'm taking is knowing it wouldn't have been that bad and not even a loss if it wasn't for the dumb, preventable penalties, and if Bradford hadn't ended up on the turf in pain.

And defensively, I have been sick of Brent V and his schemes that leave receivers wide open for years. He was co-D coordinator with Mike Stoops a few years back, and he was not the brains of that combo. And sending continual corner/safety blitzes when the other QB keeps reading them... ugg.

Hopefully Bradford's back by conference time...

This guy, TE: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=156974

Had like 7 catches for 90 yards tonight, too.
