Lelie made 3 of the longest catches in the Chiefs preseason... and Im actually surprised that he was cut, when you consider how shitty our WR corps is.

Was he shitty in practice?

I'm not sure why he was cut... when our WR's suck so much ass.

Becuz he sucked whys it so hard for people to grasp that he sucks. He played good aginst 3rd and 4th stringers. Awesome.

It's actually pretty confounding. Is the #6 WR on your roster better than Lelie? Really?

He doesn't suck as much as Lawrence sucks, which is the main point.

Lack of toughness and commitment, same problem he has always had.

You don't think he has the talent to come on here and blow away the competition for the #2 slot? But he didn't. Same ol' Ashley.

He wasn't in competition for the 4 and 5 slots, because those guys make their bread and butter on ST.

Pretty much. If you're a 4th string anything, you pretty much have to play special teams to justify a roster spot.

What do you think, Krabs?

Nah... Let's hang on to the WR's who do NOTHING at all against 3rd stringers.
Makes sense.

I don't think billay can understand well constructed, correctly spelled sentences. You will need to rephrase it.

Impossible to tell without seeing practice. We got to see him play for a total of, what, an hour? They looked at him for weeks.

He was a wuss in Denver. Yes he's fast but he got gator arms every time he went over the middle. Doesn't sound like he changed much since they cut him a couple of years ago. I thought that kind of attitude wouldn't go very far with this regime but was hoping he had gotten better. Apparently it hadn't.

Lelie has PROVEN he can't play at a high enough level to belong on an NFL Roster at this point in his career. Lawrence is a rookie who could PROGRESS. Do you get it????

I think this is probably spot on. With his history, to make the team he had to shine. He didn't do terrible on the field, but he wasn't anything spectaular.

I'd say in the bigger picture--we were looking for that speed guy to stretch the field. Some of the talk was about him with this, but there was also talk about that being why we had Lawrence.

Lawrence was crappy at times (especially with the dropsies), but it seems to be teachable stuff (put him on the jugs machine, etc.) You take a vet who was supposed to be at one time spectacular but never lived up to it vs. a rook that has problems with some aspects of his game but can be corrected--I'd go with the potential over the never-really-has-been.

Lelie averaged 10.5 catches the past 2 seasons, that's just sweet goodness of a talented WR that we shouldn't have cut.

Dude, so far Lawrence has pretty much sucked at both catching and returning. He has 10 catches about 5 drops and 1 or 2 fumbles.

forget it, i'm tired of telling people shit they would know if they actually watch a fooking Chiefs game. :doh!:

Yeah, let's forget about those 2 seasons he spent on teams with QB carousels.
Two teams will absolutely AWFUL offenses.
3 years ago he was more productive than any WR on this roster not named Dwayne Bowe.

But... Surely we can rely on a bunch of WR's who are lucky to even be in the NFL let alone on a roster.

Look for him to land back on the roster after the first game. If you take a veteran into the season, his salary is guaranteed for that year.

If you cut him, and then bring him back after the first game.... you can cut him again anytime during the season wtihout a problem.

Plus, even at the veteran minimum, he makes far more than the younger guys and he doesn't play special teams.

It is all how much value are you getting for each dollar spent.
