If you were a person of your opposite sex, which celebrity (past or present) would be your favorite? Based on looks, personality or any other factor. I got curious about this when a friend who is quite a macho, manly guy said about Clive Owen, "He is very handsome. If I were a woman I'd want to marry him."

Who would you want to marry if you were of oppsite sex? Fake macho guys need not reply. As I said, this is for guys (or gals) who are confident of their sexuality.

PS,

A celebrity could be anyone famous, not just a Hollywood personality.

This is a funny topic, but it is interesting to see what guys think about who is an attractive male. There doesn't have to be a homo aspect to it. It is ironic that many times women will look at things way different. I have talked to my wife about this before, and it is strange how the answers shake out. At times, women will pick other females as attractive and as a male you will be like WTF? It seems a lot of times that jealousy factors into the picks. Then the same thing happens in reverse....Goofy topic...but hell, aren't 99% of them on here. If males can't see why women are atracted to guys like Clive Owen, Pitt, etc...then they are just being dishonest to at least some degree.

It's her eyes. I'm attracted to women that have beautiful eyes more than anything. But, after that, it's a crap shoot. In real life, I generally like a woman who is curvy. My feeling is that I could be with a flat chested man if I wanted, but if I'm gonna be with a woman, I want her to have all the features a man doesn't have.

Are we talking guys we just think are good-looking? You know, a quick :hump:? Not talking about personality, or bankroll, or... girth? :D

Historically, the usual (Harrison Ford, Sean Connery).

Currently, most of the obvious choices are good-looking guys (Ryan Reynolds, Orlando Bloom, Christian Bale, Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, etc.,.). But, frankly, most of the movie stars are just meh.

TV, on the other hand, has a crapload of good-lookin' guys for some reason. William Peterson (fornerly of "C.S.I.") is a decent-looking guy. So is the guy who plays the lead in "The Mentalist" (his name escapes me). David Boreanaz, of "Bones" and formerly "Angel"/"Buffy". In that same area, James Marsters (but only as blonde Spike, LOL... he looked goofy with brown hair on "Smallville"). Speaking of "Smallville", Tom Wellig. "Supernatural", either brother, AND the dude who played the father. "Numb3rs", both brothers, and the guy who plays Colby. The lead guy on "Warehouse 13". The guy who just got done playing Lee Apollo on "BSG". From BBCA, the vampire lead on "Being Human", the guy who plays "Robin Hood", and the lead on "Torchwood" (who happens to be gay, so I don't know how that applies in the "if I were a chick" scenario). If I were a chick, I'd bang any one of them dudes. ROFL

What guys are you talking about? I have no idea any guy gives two shits about an accent or a girls personality when talking about how hot she is. If you are talking about a relationship or wanting to spend time with them, well I can see that. But I fail to see how attractive someone is has anything to do with anything but how they look like.

There are no girls with good personalities. A good personality consists of a chick with a little hard body, who will satisfy all sexual demands without being too slutty about things, and who essentially will keep her dumb f*cking mouth shut. The only girls with good personalities who are smart or maybe funny or halfway intelligent or talented, though god knows what the f*ck that means, are ugly chicks. And this is because they have to make up for how f*cking unnattractive they are.

I'll occasionally ask my wife's opinions of leading men, and she always picks the guys who I don't think are good-looking at all. Jude Law, Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt. I don't get the appeal of those guys. Especially Jude Law. I must be missing something.

If I was a woman, I'd be looking for two types of men: the handsome hero or the adorable type. The former is best typified by George Clooney and Harrison Ford, though Ford is a bit old now, and the archetype of the latter is Matthew Broderick (though I'd have issues with his alcohol use).

But apparently I have trouble putting myself in a woman's shoes, because I realize that the guys I picked are the guys I'd like to hang around with as another guy. They're guys with personality, as opposed to vacuous leading men.

Well, the thing is with women they have a much wider range of who they think is attractive than men. Most men can all agree that Angelina Jolie is hot, but some women out there say they aren't even attracted to Brad Pitt. There was a study done about this sort of thing recently, and I was reading over it. Basically it had women pick out who they thought was most attractive out of 100 different guys, and vice versa. The men agreed who was attractive by a rate of 6-1 over the women. But this is good news for guys, because even if you are kind of ugly. Some hot bustacious skank will probably want to jump on your rod.

Jude Law has the Ellen Barkin thing happening....one minute hot, the next minute just so ugly. In that movie, the Holiday, he was stunning, but man was he ugly in Closer.
Not a fan of Harrison Ford or Russell Crowe or Brad Pitt. I like more of a Clive Owen/George Clooney type person...and then the other type would be like a John Krasinski type or the guy from Chuck. Just kinda fun type men.

Jude Law is all lumpy and asymmetric in the face. I was shocked to hear that he's considered to be hunkish.

And Krasinski is a guy I'd put in the Matthew Broderick category. Charming and charismatic, which makes them more appealing even if they're not classic leading men. The female version of that is the "cutie" as opposed to the "beauty".
