After watching a lot of Arizona games this preseason I have become troubled with the attire of a few football players. The biggest one is Larry Fitzgerald wearing football shorts. This seems to be becoming a trend, and I for one do not like it.

I think Football pants should be below the knees. In my opinion the NFL needs to crack down on this. What say you?

Picture, and POLL to follow.

They should be able to wear what they want.... if they don't want to wear a jockstrap, kneepads, hip-pads... whatever, it's their body.

Now, if I was the one passing out the paychecks it may be a different story.

It's his knees he has to worry about. If he wants less protection wearing shorts, then hey.....

Wideouts have been taking knee pads out of their football pants for years. All this is doing is modifying the uniform to match what the players have been doing on their own.

i rarely see anyone wearing any leg pads at all anymore. Kind of a testemant that the game is played "higher" (no not matt jones high) cut blocks aren't allowed much or at all. Plus even if you do have knee pads if you take a helmet from troy Palamalu torpedo, your knee is going to be pasta anyway

Indeed. I never wore knee pads when I played. 1) They always felt like they slowed me down 2) I was much more worried about an knee injury that resulted in a wrenching, sidewise motion than anything else. Knee pads don't protect from that.

The isn't about pads, it is about the length of the pants. Football shorts look silly, IMO.

kinda funny because that's the shortest "shorts" you will ever see a black person not named mark jackson wear

I say below the knees, but I really don't care. The No Fun League has enough stupid rules to knit-pick over this...

the shorts look stupid... i say limit them to pants... who knows what they'll want to wear next.... ghey shorts could be step 1 of many bad uniform changes......

Remember back in the 1980s and early 1990s, college football players used to have their hip pads and tail pad sticking out of their pants and exposed. More players used to wear their jersey short to show off their six packs or beer gut.
