3) Street Fighter

You simply HAVE to buy it. I would, without a single moment's hesitation. If you don't buy it I will track you down and embarrass you in front of your friends, family and loved ones. It may involve my penis. Actually, yes, it will involve my penis.

I will rape you in front of your entire community if you don't make this obvious purchase.

That makes sense. I loved that game so much because it was so revolutionary at the time. I do remember it being out of order frequently.

Does anyone remember that hologram game in the early 90's? Little chick would pop up on your control pad throughout the game? I didn't really like it, but it was a cool feature at the time. Of course I was like, 12.

LMAO I'm out of rep. The wife and I don't talk over purchases unless they're over $150 provided we're following our budget. We've been misers since we got back from Reno so she'll come home and laugh tomorrow if everything works out. Lori was pretty hot back in the day, and I think she was a cheerleader at Tonka. Their family's house is on the first street, right turn, before you get to the main turn-in to the school.

When we moved to KC in Jan. of 87, I lived in the apt. complex behind Venture and Price Chopper on N. Oak. Lived there all through High School.
I lived with my folks for a little bit after HS over on Choteau and Prather in the apts. way up on the hill, caddy-corner to EZ Shop and that old bar that I believe is a strip club now.

You'd be absolutely nuts not to buy that lol...hell if you're not going to, give me the info and I will be over there today and pick it up.

I paid a helluva lot more for my Donkey Kong cab (sooo worth it though) and my DK Jr. Next on the list is Ms. Pac Man...that will be a pretty penny though, won't be cheap. After that, I want a Pac Man cab and will probably look for Asteroids or Galaga perhaps.

So what is the going rate of some of the bigger coin op machines these days? (Other than the exception to the rule that Mr. Flopnuts found)

I used to have a game route. A game like that sold new for around $2500. The coin door alone cost $50.

Just depends...you can find nice machines for fairly cheap, I've found buying from private owners or places like arcades or something like that who just wanna get rid of them.

You can nice nices anywhere from $200-$400...just about where to look.

Yeah, but buying you an airline ticket, shit loads of beer and a top notch Montana rib steak, would make the cost of the machine go through the roof! :D

Run N Gun (nba basketball game)
Iron Man's Off Road Challenge

the side art is great looking. the entire cabinet is a work of art. Atari games always had the best overall designs.

Gauntlet was pretty difficult unless you could get everyone moving in the same direction. For 4 player, I think D&D shadows of Mystara was just slightly better.

Good thread. :D I never would have pictured Bwana playing in an arcade. Or I can kind of see him devising a ninja move that would have him kicking the machine in certain places in quick succession and allow him to play for free.

I am too young for arcades really. But every once in a while if my brother and I went to the mall with mom or dad, we would play the driver game equipped with a gun. I would drive and he would shoot. I remember getting 1st place one time. Big accomplishment.

The two games noted above in my posts are the only two I ever got into. The Karate Champ I liked just because I was so into martial arts and the other one, I played just because it was there at the time. I do nee dto run down a Karate Champ one of these days and at least have it out in the garage, by my heavy bags and weights. It would be a kick in the pants to have a go at it again.

Heh ... If you all ever are south of KC by a couple of hours here in Springfield we have a place called 1984 ( http://www.1984arcade.com ) .... $5 gets you in the door and all the the 1980's games you can play.

1984 Arcade in its basic form is a classic 1980s Style Arcade. Here at 1984 we feature games from the 80's as well as a few from the 70's and 90's if they "fit". As you enter 1984 you pay five dollars at the door and then you can play all the video games you want. *We do offer Pinball for 25 cent per play. The games we offer are difficult to find and we are really more then just an arcade - it's a classic gaming museum featuring arcade machines that are just not available to the public anymore. We are especially proud of our collection of Vector games like Asteroids, Deluxe Asteroids, Gravitar, Tempest and BattleZone! You will find almost all the classics here including Space Invaders, Ms. Pac Man, Centipede and many more. We have about 50 games and we rotate new games in almost weekly. Of course we offer private parties and an 80's vibe, complete with music videos from ABC to ZZTop... Its all here at 1984.
