I know, it's week three, but who cares.

I'm assuming we gave up a 7th for O'Connell, and a 5th for Ndukwe/Alleman, but I don't know for sure.

My essential opinion is that we gotta focus in the trenches first and foremost. We have the cap space to pick up a decent stop-gap WR for a season and a stop-gap safety or two.

But unfortunately, there's only a few players out there who I consider Top 5 prospects, none of them are WRs, OLBs, or NTs. Instead, we have to go safety -- which is great and all I suppose.

1. S Eric Berry, Tennessee

Not much to add here.

2. OLB Everson Griffen, USC

Sick size/speed combo, but underproduces for a 1st rounder. Top o' the second, to ya.

2. NT Terrance Cody, Alabama

I've been all over the place on Cody. I think there's a chance he falls like a rock. Gives us two downs of elite run defense, but little else. Wwwwwworth it.

3. C/OG/OT Chris Scott, Tennessee

Is a player, never gives up sacks, and can play literally every position on the line.

4. WR Jacoby Ford, Clemson

This team needs speed, bad.

6. OLB Willie Young, N.C. State

Project, anyone? Young is small, just a hair over 240 lbs. But he is athletic enough to just be a rushing specialist who can at least TRY to cover across the middle when possible.

Awesome! The Chiefs offensive line will continue to be the worst in the league, five years running!

Schaaaaaaaaaweeet!

Nice point, Mr. Mecca.

If you give the Chiefs Eric Berry with their first pick you have to think something like Ciron Black and Ricky Sapp in the 2nd the guys you have there won't fall like that.

That's a weak depth chart.

If the Chiefs don't draft at least three if not four players that can start immediately on this fucking shitty roster, I'll give them an F- again next year.

Though after just typing this, you're probably correct.

4-12, here we come!

The Chiefs absolutely positively can not go into next season with Goff and Ike. That whole side has to be rebuilt.

I love Eric Berry and will JIMP if we get him.

But this line has to be addressed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds if we take a safety.

There's also no way Terrence Cody falls that far.

We also need 3 linebackers.

From the first three rounds they have to come up with a RT, pass rusher and another OL.

This team can not be turned around by the draft alone. Free agency, and trade scenarios will play heavily in the 2010 squad. As for the draft, if one of these safeties is Ed Reed II, or Polamalu 2.0 - go for it.

We all know the screaming problem on this team is the Oline (followed closely by a pass rush) so if measures aren't taken to address that, I'll be thoroughly disappointed.

Tim Tebow...gift wrapped and delivered baby....

Jaguars are going to take Tebow in the first round.

It will briefly push ticket sales through the roof but they'll have to start him right away ruining his career in the name of marketing. Invest early and wisely Tim!

Completely disagree.

I'm not drafting a RT in the first round when someone like Eric Berry likely will be sitting there.

This team needs big time playmakers, and I think Berry would immediately step into the NFL and be a top 5 safety.

They have 4 picks in the first three rounds. You can grab Berry and still get the RT, pass rusher and another OL.

My mistake.

I can live with that.

They also need to find 3 more linebackers, a NT, and another WR.

I think play making safeties are a luxury.
A good pass rusher is defense priority 1 and using a top pick for one would be worth it.I know people say you get olineman in the 3-4 rounds but making the position a priority with the 2nd rounders would net quality replacements not just getting "anybody" to fill in right side of oline. Improving the oline helps the defense by having to defend for less possessions.

1st round pass rusher
Both 2nds OL
3 BPA
4th OL
5-7 KR/PR WR

You tell me one top defense in the NFL that doesn't have a play making safety.

Presuming KC has a top 5 pick, which pass rusher OLB do you think warrants a top 5 pick?

First things first.......we need to go out and grab Logan Mankins in FA. Throw him some coin to come in and fill the RG position for us. I'm not sure Waters will be here after this year....so if he isn't...then you put Ndukwe over to LG and that leaves us two holes to fill on the offensive line (C, RT).

The next stop in FA.....is a pass rusher. If Ware or Merriman make it to FA.....we have to go after one of them. I don't see Ware leaving Dallas....but you never know. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

1st round - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
2nd round - George Selvie, OLB, South Florida
2nd round - Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincinatti
3rd round - Sam Young, RT, Notre Dame
4th round - Ted Larsen, OC, NC State
6th round - Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee

The top D's do have playmakers there. I would rather just get by at safety and fix the oline and get a pass rusher. I think the pass rush and oline are just too f@#d up to not address them.

Black who will be a RT in the NFL.Do you get a LT from college and move him to RT, or get a RT from college and let him stay at RT? If getting a RT to play RT is an OK deal, Iowa has a RT that is pretty good, and ranked pretty high on most OT lists on draft sites. Calloway I believe is his name. I have seen him play once this season, and was fairly impressed. FWIW, Iowa has one of the top ranked LT's in college, and that is why Calloway is playing RT.

Maybe a good pick with the late second rounder if Atlanta keeps on winning.

Typically the higher rated RT prospects are guys who played LT in college but who scouts view as lacking ideal foot skills. They usually get by in college more on brute strength which also makes them better RT prospects.

There's a good chance that our first three "picks" not only go in the first round, but in the top 15.

I've only seen him play once, but he looked pretty fair. I see they are playing PSU on national TV Saturday night.

What I saw the first time was a road grader in the run, and pretty fair against the pass. I'm not an O-line guru by any stretch of the imagination, but he looked OK to me.

They guys who understand the necessary footwork and all of that may tell me I am crazy come Saturday night though.
