Don't know if we have any dental people here but I had to call my dentist and I don't know how this is going to end up but I'm not very happy.

A week ago last Wednesday I went in to get a crown and when he stuck me with the needle it hurt way more than usual and he knew it.So fast forward to every day since and most of the day the left side of my mouth is numb kind of like that feeling about 30 minutes before the novacaine wears off.

So I call him Friday and he thinks when he stuck me he damaged one of my nerves but hopes that this feeling is just the healing process.I'm supposed to let it go till this Friday and if not any better to call back.

Do we have any dentists here that could chime in,this feeling everyday sucks and the way it feels right now I don't think it's healing.

im afraid it may take awhile, my friend has this same issue when she got her wisdom tooth taken out, hitting a nerve, she still feels about the same a few months later. Went to another dentist and he said it could go away but may take awhile

you're screwed

In all seriousness...

If he struck the nerve and damaged it, it will in all likelyhood heal on it's own. I'd say it can take up to 3-6 months to fully repair itself. I'd still get it looked at though.

(Probably use a different doctor though)

Dude, no joke...she still has the problem i think...i havent asked her in over a month if she still feels it, just to not remind her. But she hasn't complained so i dont know. The first dentist said it may never go away, the 2nd opinion said it will, but may take awhile to heal.

btw i have the same type of issue on my middle finger on my left hand. i held a plastic bag with a few bottles in it for like 20 min almost and it squeezed around my finger and basically cut off circulation to that finger and 2 others, but the ohters are fine now, this one is getting better still feels very strange and almots numb. i assume that will go away too?

At one time or another I've had numbness eveywhere on left side, the constant though is in my cheek and tongue.I've even noticed that my food doesn't seem to have the same flavor as in pretty much tasteless.

Tooth pain sucks. It's ganna take a while to heal, for the time being. Watch replies of our OL from yesterday's game, it's numbing. That will help.

That sucks, i suggest go see your dentist, this sounds just like my friends issue she had too. It's going to be annoying for a little bit but you'll get used to it, i hope it goes away soon for you, esp since its effecting your taste of food
