View Full Version : Chiefs Report: Galloway heading to Kansas City

Sorry if repost...didn't see it in the galloway thread...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/20/report-galloway-heading-to-kansas-city/

Joey Galloway wasn't good enough to stick in New England's receiver rotation, but there may be a spot for him in Kansas City.

Christopher Price of WEEI in Boston writes on Twitter that Galloway is on his way to Kansas City for a workout with the Chiefs.

Kansas City is thin at wide receiver, with Mark Bradley, Bobby Wade, and Bobby Engram behind Dwayne Bowe on the depth chart. Bradley has been somewhat productive (177 yards), but has suffered from a number of mental mistakes.

Galloway struggled to adapt to New England's system, but he didn't struggle getting open too badly in his first few games. He did struggle catching the ball.

I'm really getting tired of taking Patriot castaways.

It's depressing to read the bottom of that column:

"Kansas City...where New England players go to die."

"What a joke this guy is, almost 40 and can't run anymore...KC SUCKS!"

And the Winner by a nose:

"I've seen a better line for a 2nd grade fire drill."

Not sure I understand why we'd even consider bringing Galloway in.
He has exactly 7 catches this season. Bowe was more productive on Sunday than Galloway's been all year. Bradley and Wade are both better options.

Why are people bitching? We have TONS of money to make a move like this, we're thin at WR, and he's probably better than our backups as well as anything else our there. Chiefs fans always complain about what we need then when we get it they complain cause it isn't what they wanted particularly. For a team that is willing to trade away all its players outside of Matt Cassel, wtf is the reason for complaint? OMG the Patsification of the Chiefs continues... grumble grumble grumble. Get over it.

KC needs to fix their line... doesn't matter how good the WRs are (and I don't know that adding Galloway does much to be honest), but if your QB is running for his life... you could have Randy Moss, Andre Johnson and Roddy White and it wouldn't matter.

Copper would have more of an overall impact than Galloway due to his special teams play.

That would be a bad trade off, especially considering Galloway doesn't play on special teams.

I disagree. One aspect of our team that has improved slightly is special teams.

Do we have the right returner in place?

No.

But there's no denying that special teams has improved and Copper's been a part, without a doubt.

As for your question, if anyone is going to be cut in favor of Galloway (which I think is a silly scenario), it's Engram.
