Check this out.

Long story short, some guy makes a post saying Fisher showed up to a charity event with Dungy, takes off his jacket, reveling a Peyton Manning jersey, and then says something like "now I know what it's like to be a winner."

Everyone called BS, then his buddy sent him pics.

Looks like this really happened.

That's great.

Best record in football last season turns into perhaps the greatest/worst/most epic meltdown ever. And Fisher goes for a few laughs. Those Nashville fans have got to be all warm inside right now.

I wonder if they will pull a San Antonio Spurs thing? Great team, everyone got injured, season goes into the tank, they get the #1 pick, select Tim Duncan, everyone gets healthy and they go on to win multiple championships.

Exactly. Who on this team is someone that you would say is a star. LJ is used, and doesn't give a rat's ass. Bowe is amazing to watch if the catch involves some crazy acrobatics, but if it's just a simple recpetion, he can't hold onto the ball. DJ is not even a presence. Dorsey could be good, given time, but I really don't think he fits the system.

Anyone else?

This isn't that much different than what Herm did, before the "playoff game" against the Colts.
He basically publicly sucked them off before the game.
I know he didn't wear a jersey, but he basically conveyed that the Chiefs had no business being on the same field as the Colts.

Yeah, Herm made sure of that. He didn't want "Dicks team" to get in the way of Dungy winning a SB. So they didn't.

Heck, if Marty had a lucky "Music City Miracle" in one of his first round games, he might have gone to the Super Bowl and lost as well.

Other than that Fisher has been adept at building 13-3 teams which did nothing in the playoffs...

Fisher apologizes for wearing Colts jersey

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 21, 2009 2:26 PM ET
It didn't take long for Titans coach Jeff Fisher to feel some backlash after jokingly wearing a Peyton Manning jersey (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/20/fisher-dons-colts-jersey-i-just-wanted-to-feel-like-a-winner/) to introduce Tony Dungy at a charity rally Tuesday.

During his weekly radio show, a caller questioned him about the move. (If the caller was anything like PFT's commenters, he probably didn't view the joke as harmless like we did.)

Fisher apologized if he offended anyone (http://blogs.tennessean.com/titans/2009/10/20/fisher-apologizes-for-colts-jersey/), then he questioned why anyone would get offended in the first place.

"It was for a very, very worthwhile cause, charity," Fisher said. "I was introducing Tony, just having fun with it and I really apologize if I offended anybody, but if you're offended over the nature of that type of thing, then I think you need to rethink things."

We largely agree. Even if a fan wants to get angry over a football team or its coach, this seems incident seems minor compared to having to watch the team's secondary all season. Or its passing game. This wasn't a moment like Jim Mora talking about the Washington University coaching job on the radio.

"This is a very worthwhile and needy benefit and I was honored to be there," Fisher said. "I'm sorry if I offended anybody but if I had to do it again, I would do it again."

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it against NFL policy to be seen in public wearing other teams apparel? Im pretty sure the Titans can fire him for violating policy.

ChiefMojo
10-21-2009, 03:55 PM
To be honest I think he is trying to get fired. He has been at Tennessee longer than any current coach at their job I believe. His team is in disarray and he is probably figuring his time as the Titans coach is near its end.

I think he is a damn good coach and would love him to be KC's coach, but with that said I want to give Coach Haley plenty of time that he is warranted.

Not the greatest move in my book with what he said, but we don't know how he is feeling right now either. lol

I really wouldn't care. It's a jersey. It has no bearing on how hard he works to win each week for his team. It was probably used as a motivational factor more than anything. And people want him fired for it? That's crazy.
