OT Anthony Davis from Rutgers is on the tube in half an hour on ESPN2. Could be a possibility with our early 2nd, or most definately a trade down in the 1st scenario.

Just a heads up for those who want a OT with our top 5 pick we now have. This could be one of those guys we could get with a pick that is not top 5.

I'm a little worried about the Hawkeyes this week. Michigan State's been playing a lot better as of late and could get back in the Big 10 race with a win. On the other hand, Iowa is a better team overall and doesn't seem to mind playing in tough road environments. If the Hawkeyes win this week, they're set up for the big battle in Columbus following home games against Indiana and Northwestern. Go Hawks!

I don't see why people think Florida, Alabama, and Texas has no shot of getting beat. I can totally see Texas getting wacked by Missouri and Alabama being Lane Kiffin'ed

I'm not all that concerned... I mean, everyone is expecting them to get their asses beat, anyway. I didn't think they would compete last year in Norman, but they held on for about 35-40 minutes.... I think it'll be a lot of the same. OU will keep a 1 or 2 possession lead into the 3rd, and it'll come down to KU failing to get that one stop they need to tie the game or take the lead.

Or, maybe they'll get beat down... meh.

KU rolls: 35 - 10.

OU's D wears down after the 2nd quarter and their backup QB can't get the passing game going.

make that 55-10.

If KU wins the north and then wins the championship than it would have BCS implications. I know also by this logic The KSU vs CU game has bcs implictions also as both of those teams could win the north.

Touchdown, K-State. A simple I formation, Thomas walks in without being touched from the 6.

10-6, K-State.

Coach

Nice punt, puts in the 14. Nearly fumbled it away, but Colorado has the ball on the 15.

Coach
10-24-2009, 12:44 PM
Colorado get a little drive going to the 35, but have to punt it away. Hanson is a very tough QB to bring down, becuase of his quickness to get away from potentional sacks. Punted to the 35.

So far, basically the story is, Colorado had shitty field position, other than the first drive. K-State had pretty much good field position throughout the game thus far.

Not if you don't have a strong running game to keep them honest. And Colorado is actually better now that Hanson is on the field.

Of course, another thing I could consider is that KU didn't have much film on Hanson, so they weren't sure what to expect.

I was gonna suggest that last week, but I didn't want to be accused of making excuses. And heck, even Mangino refused to accept that as an excuse last week. I still think that is part of it as well as KU starting several new faces on defense. Bowen may be looking for a new job after this year if his defense doesn't get better.

Colorado goes 3 and out. Punts it away. No, ISU isn't very good without Arnaud and their RB. Those two give them a chance, but they are over-matched without them.

Coach
10-24-2009, 02:08 PM
I was gonna suggest that last week, but I didn't want to be accused of making excuses. And heck, even Mangino refused to accept that as an excuse last week. I still think that is part of it as well as KU starting several new faces on defense. Bowen may be looking for a new job after this year if his defense doesn't get better.

There's probably a few factors involved. Not having much film on Hanson. New faces on defense. Committing 2 turnovers in the redzone. No running game.

Usually, those produce not good results.

Lzen
10-24-2009, 02:09 PM
No, Hanson has been playing throughout, except for that one series before halftime.

I see. So what is the score? How has Hanson played? He looked like young Todd Reesing last week. The 2 TOs inside our own 5 and Hanson extending plays last week are the reasons KU lost.

Coach
10-24-2009, 02:09 PM

I think the coaching for ISU this year has improved tremendously. JMO

With some talent, they could be a very dangerous team in the next few years.

Right now, their defense appears to be terrible. But they are getting the turnovers.

Coach
10-24-2009, 02:13 PM
Eh, the only reason Nebraska isn't up by 30 is due to 4 turnovers in the redzone.

Well, it's not like they're giving it away intentionally. Iowa State is FORCING the turnovers. They are making THINGS happen.

They know they don't have the talent to match up, but their work ethic and their efforts have shown that they can compete with the Big XII North.

In all, it's looking like the Big XII north (as for now) is not a very good conference, unfortunately.
