View Full Version : Obama Obama least Presidential of recent Presidents

It has become painfully obvious Obama is more interested in trash talking and campaign rhetoric rather than sounding Presidential. It gets very annoying when this guy speaks when he continues with a tone that is more of one who is ab athlete getting ready for a game as opposed to the leader of the most powerful country in the world. "I'm not tired, I'm just getting started" and the like is campaign talk, not Presidential speak. I find it hard for anyone to be able to deny this.
This isn't a game, this isn't Chicago thugery. We are talking about the President of the United States of American. His constant one liners and attempts at tough talk are beneath past Presidents. Including Bush Jr. and Bill Clinton. In fact, Bill Clinton always sounded Presidential when he spoke. Obama sounds like he is getting ready for a Sunday on the football field. I dare say, he has too much of a street mentality when it comes to him giving speeches. He sounds more like Jesse Jackson than a President. And for a man who claims to be the one to unite Americans, he is very disrespectful to those who disagree with him. I don't mean his Admin sycophants. I mean him.
He seems to think he is Obama and the world should bow. I don't know if he is trying to mold his talk after MLK's "I have a dream", but it seems every time he talks it has more of that tone than of one who is in charge.
Regardless of policies or whatever, the man needs to start acting like a President and speaking like one. Not like a prize fighter or football player.

What was the occasion for that clip? He was speaking to what seemed like a pretty partisan crowd. It sounded like an informal sort of event where an informal tone was appropriate but I can't say for sure until I know for what reason he was speaking then.

It was a Town Hall meeting. And really it doesn't matter. Is the man the President, running for President or an activist?

I don't see the tone as being unfit for the President to use. Its informal and personable, sure, but I don't see those as negative things necessarily.

This reverential holiness some people seem to want the president to live up to doesnt exist anywhere else. Not even in GB, and not in the USA before around the depression. For a while there (if you look at history), the president wasnt even seen as a particularly important topic of conversation.
We didnt even bother protecting them until we started losing a few to some nutcases and had to add another responsibility to the guys who were just in charge of looking into counterfeit money.
He's a powerful politician and perhaps our chief diplomat. Nothing more. All things and politics being equal (obviously they never are), I'd rather have a guy who is comfortable enough with his image to be casual outside the most formal of settings rather than someone figuratively always looking at the mirror obsessively trying to adhere to a certain image.

Remember during the campaign when he tried to distance himself from Bill Ayers? And gullible jackasses believed his BS and voted for him anyway? And then he hires ON OUR DIME scumbags worse than Ayers like Jennings and Van Jones. But wait, it gets even more absurd, let's pretend their is any integrity to a "green jobs czar" (I mean, what the fuck is that??? Does anybody know?)...
What qualifications did Van Jones bring to the table?
O-Bots can you stop pretending the jackass you sucked off and continue to suck off, that greasy turd shit out of Mayor Daley's ass in Chicago, B.O. is not a communist? If you dig communism, great, just admit. Stop with the BS.

The Town Hall is just an example. He has had this tone in his formal addresses as well. And saying things like "I will not tolerate...". I am sorry, the man comes off more as a dictator and trash talker than a President. Perhaps it is just a sign of how much our education system sucks compared to the past? I don't know. I just don't think the man tends to come off as Presidential as he does confrontational, cocky and activist.

I would think that a green jobs czar is someone who, by authority of the executive branch that the office is a part of, works closely with government agencies to coordinate the development and implementation of environmentally sustainable policies and consequent positions of employment.
Van Jones was the founder of an green jobs organization and the author of a book advocating green jobs, so it appears that he was imminently qualified.

Those are fair questions. I doubt that many people would dispute that jobs in environmental sustainability are a bad thing, but the disputing the need for an Executive office concerning policy towards this end is a fair dispute. I would argue in favor of the office but I'm still one of those bozos who believes in man-made warming.
Define "envrionmentally sustainable jobs" and contrast that to unsustainable.
I mean two things. One: jobs that are sustainable with respect to the environment; jobs that don't negatively impact the environment, that don't use resources that it can't replenish. But more accurately, Two: jobs in the sector of environmental sustainability. Jobs that are involved in preserving environmental quality or that use natural resources in such a way that is "responsible." Think about solar or wind energy jobs -- those are green jobs.

In my opinion, to be presidential is to be representative of an entire nation. Not to talk about yourself more than you talk about the country. We not I. After all he is supposed to be the leader of the nation, not the leader of a movement. BO acts and sounds like a cheerleader and a narcissistic one at that. He can't help but talk about HIMSELF and what HE is going to do and what the world expects of HIM.
JMO. BO does not sound like a president. He sounds like a community organizer...

So you think labor won't be outsourced and such in that industry the same as it is in every other? The biggest myth right now is that of the "creation of sustainable green jobs". We do not need a "Green Jobs Czar". that is just plain idiotic.
But since we are on the topic of Czars, the sheer numer of Czars, let alone their appointed titles, lends little the credibility of Obama as President and more to Obama the Dictator.

Actually, there is a LOT of truth to that. I remember reading the vitriolic hatred for Bush from the left, and just not being able to understand it and thinking that you lefties were just petty haters. Now the tables are turned, and we on the right are being thought of in this way. I finally can honestly say I know what you lefties felt like during the Bush years.
Having said that, Obama sucks. Thank you.
