What do you think went into that decision? Not wanting to create a QB controversy isn't flying with me. It was just hand off the ball and run out the clock time.

My first thought is that it was to protect both QBs. No sense risking your #1 or #2 in garbage time trying to throw on some beauty pageant points. Though thinking more on it, though I really don't believe it to be so, it's not out of some realm of possibility that by not putting Brodie back there Cassel's ego can be held intact if Croyle happened to drive downfield and score beauty pageant points...

If Maas was right and Haley wanted to play Croyle over Cassel the opportunity was ripe. Unless the rain might cause injury and wipe out his chance to pull the starter later. Broken Croyle and ineffective Cassel.
