OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)—The Oakland Raiders have pulled quarterback JaMarcus Russell(notes) in the second quarter after he committed three turnovers in the first half against the New York Jets.

Bruce Gradkowski(notes) replaced Russell with the Raiders trailing 21-0 midway through the second quarter Sunday. Russell lost a fumble and threw two interceptions before leaving, giving him 13 turnovers this season.

Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft, has been booed recently by the frustrated home crowd in Oakland as he has failed to complete even half his passes this season.

Russell will remain Raiders’ starter (http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/25/russell-will-remain-raiders-starter/) <!-- p class="post-info-author">By NFL.com Staff</p -->

JaMarcus Russell’s benching in Sunday’s game against the Jets doesn’t mean he’ll lose his starting job. Raiders coach Tom Cable said during his postgame news conference following the 38-0 loss (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009102508/2009/REG7/jets@raiders) that Russell will remain the starting quarterback for the Raiders.
Russell was pulled from the game midway through the second quarter after completing 6 of 11 passes for 61 yards with two interceptions and a costly fumble on the Raiders’ first play from scrimmage that led to the Jets’ first touchdown.
Cable pointed to Russell’s three turnovers as his reason for the change.
“For the first time, I think he was really out of sorts,” Cable said

Someone needs to pop Cable in the mouth. Is he fucking blind??

What makes me sick is the fact that if I sucked as bad as Ja Suckass at my job,I wouldn't have that job anymore.He got paid more than I'll earn in a life time and he stunk it up as bad as I have ever seen.

When I first started on this board I'd argued why drafting a bust QB was worse than drafting a bust OT early in the 1st round.
My logic was that drafting Ryan Quief was far more damaging than drafting Bob Gallery. The Bolts were set back for a decade while the Turds kept at the same level of suckage.
The fact that the Turd franchise has managed to draft busts at both QB and OT makes me very happy.

Cassel averages 165 YPG, has 8 TDs and 5 INTs, and a QB rating of 73.

Fat Albert averages 127 YPG, has 2 TDs and 8 INTs, and a QB rating of 47.

Please don't even jokingly compare them.

Cassel is underachieving. Russell is an abomination.
