Past couple of days my feet and hands feel like there are rubber bands wrapped about 4 inches above my ankles and maybe the same above my hands, my feet and hands feel like they are on fire and feels like it feels when something goes completely numb and the feeling comes back into it, that tingling feeling in my. Its terrible and they swell especially my hands to the point its hard to hold onto things.

Has anyone had anything like this? Any idea of what it is? i know I work at a hospital but a Dr. isn't going to diagnose you without you being seen. I don't want people here to know about my back and neck problems due to my job and the fact I need it to pay my bills.

This is true. Go to a Doctor at a different hospital or a separate practice that can properly diagnose it.

Are there any other symptoms?

Funny you mention it. We're actually running a 2 for 1 amputation special right now after 6pm on weeknights. Recommend a friend and receive a complimentary Chiefs inspired tramp stamp. Think about it. We use hand sanitizer and everything, Purell to be exact.

Circulation problems are only worsened by smoking. It could trigger a stroke, heart disease and lung disease.

You really need to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Shingles.

I didn't bring her here she asked what I was doing and I told her and she said she was joining, shes just young look over her.

I would think this has to do with the pinched nerve and 2 bulging discs in my back and the 2 in my neck, but its never done this before. The burning usually shoots all the way down my leg into my foot. Also 3 fingers on my right hand go almost completely numb, the pinky, ring finger and middle finger. I would think carpel tunnel, but wrong fingers and since its in my feet i think that would rule that out.

There aren't enough symptoms to know....It could be poor circulation from smoking, heart disease, lupus......could be serious, hopefully simple.

Beat me to it. Rheumatoid arthritis can set in almost overnight, or at least the symptoms can. One day your are just fine, the next, you feel like absolute shit for the rest of your life. Runs in my family. Grandfather had it, Aunt has it. How you described what you are feeling was nearly identical to their symptoms. But I'd get it checked by someone that knows what they are doing. If you don't want to go to a doctor in your hospital due to potential discovery of your back ailments, then at least try to go see someone.

Saccopoo

That is if you want to go to a doctor. Personally, I don't. Human civilization got by just fine for 10,000 years or so prior to the early 20th century and the advent of "modern medicine." I think it's horseshit really. No matter how you try to prolong it, everyone is going to end up dead anyway. I'd rather not have a catheter jammed up my pee hole and filled with toxic, manufactured drugs.

When I get to the point where that's going to happen, I'm just taking a bucket of gravy and heading into the woods, pour it over my head and let the bears eat me. Recycled through nature.

You are old and in poor health. It happens.

My age doesn't have to do with my health, working my ass off in factories and hospital floors for 12-16 hours a day has something to do with it, 44 isn't old you idiot, I am more content with my life at this age than I ever was in my 20's.

Oh you should be in good health even in your golden years, cause work is something I am sure you are not familiar with. Although basements with no natural light and air, you may develop some problems.

Go see a doctor. Really. I doubt it's nerve pain. Typically with nerve pain, you get symptoms across the length of the nerve. Since you only have it in hands and feet, that's unlikely. Get it diagnosed.

FWIW, I agree stop smoking. Just the financial impact alone should be enough.

Those are symptoms of the pinched nerve you have. I have a herniated disc in my neck that causes the same symptoms. If you've been doing some lifting or tugged on something wrong it causes a little swelling thus the symptoms you describe.

Inspector

See a doctor, really.

If it's no big deal, then you'll know and can start the treatment to put it behind you.

If it's more serious, then the faster you start treatment, the better the prognosis. You'd hate to have the doctor say something like "Gee, if only you gotten in to see me a little sooner......."

Or, the other alternative is to rub some dirt on it and take a salt tablet. That too might do the trick.
