Sometimes I worry that there won't be enough role players, and they recruited too many superstars. the 88 team and the team that won it all a couple years ago had strong role players.

Ah, too talented. A pitfall the Chiefs won't soon fall in to.

I think it's too early to tell what everyones role is at this point, but too much talent is never a problem. Now if all these guys leave just as we coach them up, that's a different story.

It continues to amaze me that people who have been registered on CP for more than 3 days take these threads seriously.

Really though, maybe the Patriots were too talented a few years ago... they couldn't close the deal. How about the Yankees? They should win it all every year, but they're just too damn talented.

Heartbreak city, baby.

The default setting for people when they're born is stupid. Too many never find the switch.

Saying a team is too talented is like complaining your cock is too big. These things do not fall under the category of "problems."
Never heard a guy complain that he'd get more chicks if he wasn't walking around with that damn baby elephant trunk in his pants.

Speaking of talented, Josh Pastner reeled in another top 10 player yesterday (Jalen Kendrick). Memphis now has arguably the best 2010 class in the country. Quite a recovery after Calipari split with this year's recruiting class to Kentucky.

So are they going to make a game of it on Tuesday?

Who knows this early. Unlikely with only 8 scholly players on the roster. They'll need Sallie to shoot lights out.

Uhhhh was the 07-08 team too talented?

Was Carolina too talented last season or in 2005?

Were the Battier/Boozer/Dunleavy/JayWilliams teams too talented?

Depends on if those 8 are good or not. Look at coach self. He likes an 8-9 man rotation. So its not impossible to field a good team with only 8 schollys.

No, but it really tells the story about how the last 6 months have gone. They lost their recruiting class to Kentucky and Kansas, Angel Garcia (6'10" guy) tore his ACL. Another recruit from France tore his ACL before even getting to the states. They only have two guys that would be considered "Bigs" at this point, and neither are especially tall. They've got JUCO transfer Will Coleman who is physically imposing, but hasn't had to deal with anyone like Aldrich. Pierre Henderson-Niles is the guy that was around 340 lbs. during the national championship game a couple of years ago. He's down to 265, and looks great. Still a mediocre player though.

Elliott Williams is the Duke guard from last year that transferred back to Memphis due to a family illness. He's a very good player, as is wing Wesley Witherspoon. But I think Sallie and Doneal Mack will need to be hot from 3 if Memphis is to keep up with KU in this one.

It is of course a silly question but It can take some coaching to guys used to getting all the attention to play for the name on the front of the jersey instead of the name on the back. Self usually does a good job of that.

Quite a recovery after Calipari split with this year's recruiting class to Kentucky."Four-star prospect Tarik Black removed any questions about the Memphis 2010 recruiting class being the best in the nation when he inked with the Tigers Monday. Black, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound post man from Memphis Ridgeway High School, rounds out a stellar recruiting class for first-year head coach Josh Pastner."
