When it was first installed, we were losing signal every time it even felt like it COULD rain. I read up online about how to point the dish properly, though, and did it myself. Since then, no problems until today.

Stupid installer obviously sucked.

I don't remember exactly what I looked at, but the basic idea is pretty simple. Find the menu in your settings that gives you signal levels, then tweak the dish pointing until you get the highest possible level. You may need someone inside looking at your TV while you adjust the dish itself.

There are three adjustments I think, and be very careful not to move anything very quickly. Mine had a fine tune knob that made it pretty easy.

Yep, I did my own install, and I had my son in the basement with a walkie talkie watching the signal strength while I adjusted the dish. Otherwise I'd have been up and down off of the roof 20 times.

This is another reason I'm starting to enjoy watching college games more, especially if it's just a game I'm watching for the hell of it. NFL games are mostly commercials and have been for a long time.

2/3rds commercials

Cedric Benson's hip could land L.J. in stripes

Free-agent running back Larry Johnson has previously worn orange on a few occasions. He could soon be wearing it for a living.

With rumors linking Johnson to the Bengals already growing, the absence of starter Cedric Benson from Sunday's game at Pittsburgh due to a hip injury could prompt the team to get Johnson in the building sooner rather than later.

The thinking is that Johnson is, for now, taking a wait-and-see approach. To date, no big-name running back with a contending team has suffered a season-ending injury.

To me, the more important position to fill on tat team was a quality b/u QB.

Dave Krieg was not that guy.

Steve Buerlein was available in free agency, and would have been a quality b/u, who also could have learned from the best and taken over when he retired.

Dude...your local station makes that choice - not the NFL.
It's not quite that simple, from the506:

Who decides what games get shown in my area?
The networks, with some guidance from the NFL. The league sets "primary markets" and "secondary markets" for most teams, and those markets are required to show all road games involving the "local" team. Primary markets are required to air home games too, unless they don't sell out. The "primary market" is the market in which the team is physically located (i.e. Boston for the Patriots). The "secondary markets" are adjoining markets assigned at the discretion of the league (again using the Patriots example, Providence). Secondary markets are not required to air home games, and if there's another team nearby, they don't. Not all markets are designated by one team or another as a secondary market (in fact, most aren't), usually only the ones closest to the stadium -- the ones that would be blacked out if not a sellout. Other markets can air one teamís games more often than not, but that rule isnít set in stone

I think they like to keep it convoluted so people don't know who to bitch at, I know if you call the local stations here they say it's not up to them.
