View Full Version : Football "Famous" CP posters?

Since it has been fairly ascertained we have a notable Star sports columnist in our midst, how may other "notables" are among those who post here?

Some time ago, one of the better wide receivers (?) J.J. Birden perhaps, had some posts. I don't recall any others.

I am sure this thread will be bludgeoned, so let me be the first to fess up; I am really a well know Shakespearean actor who is follicley challenged.

No, his screen name involved his actual name somehow, and it all started with him pining after some chick he was cheating on his wife with. I'm sure it's in the HOC.

My guess is that a lot of "famous" people have lurked from time to time, but none of them in their right mind would let on to who they are.

I think it depends on your definition of "Fame".

Whitlock is both famous and apparently infamous. There have been other "local" KC people that have posted that could be considered famous.

But if you're talking worldwide fame (George Clooney, Michael Jackson, etc.), there are none that I know of personally.

Although there are some pretty successful people that have and do post here and they "could" be considered famous by some.

I think we would all be surprised at some of the posters... and lurkers.

No doubt. Those chosen ones who built, inherited, stole their fortune as well as many redoubtable athletes swim in the same pond as do all of us. Some don't accept that fact, but it is inescapable.

So, they are human and as curious as the next person. As we banter in this thread, I am sure some look on saying to themselves "if these people only knew". We'll never know of them, this isn't the venue of which they are accustomed and will never appear.

Back in '88 I met James Doohan at a trade show in San Francisco. A vendor had hired him to sit and attract potential customers. After the crowd thinned later that day I went back and had the chance to sit and chat. Being an Electrical Engineer we found some common ground (he was not an engineer obviously but was surprisingly well versed. Said he like to "talk shop").

The thing that impressed me most was his earthiness. Once in conversation I mentioned Shatner. He seemed to have some dislike for him saying "we all put our boots on one at a time laddy , and when we die we are all equal again. Some people don't accept that though. . ."

He said that when his time comes, he is going to have his ashes put into orbit. I wonder if that ever happened. I'll have to look that up.

So even the exalted are really the same folks as we and will escape life as all do.

Who's Duff Goldman, and what is Ace of cakes?

He also has a band in Baltimore. A friend of mine had him sign a shirt for me.

Name of the band is ...soihadto...

Larry Johnson was here for a while but switched to "Twitter" instead, because it drew less negative attention to him.

I saw a rock formation in central Idaho that looks like Nixon.

Not the picture I took but one I found on the internet. It is in central Idaho not far from Elk City.
