Don't ever join that site. They're a big time eff'n scam. I previously created a profile on that site and didn't know any better at the time. Later on, I received hundreds of emails from chicks all over the U.S. I was led into thinking their may have been women that were possibly interested? But, the reason I joined was to find out and to satisfy my curiousity.

Well what do you know? Stupid me and stupid decision.:shake:
It was all a catch. Every message I read from all the women on there were the exact same. Their messages read somewhere along the lines of, "this woman is interested in conversing with you." And it was just so unusual to receive hundreds of emails in the span of a few months. Now, I've been on various dating sites and I never received that many emails in such a short span.

So I signed up for the 3-day trial which was $1.95. And that was all B.S...Because as soon as that expired, they signed me up for the monthly plan without even granting for my permission to do. And then I found out they made another transaction for the following month. Those money hungry grubbers took all my personal information from credit cards, name, address, etc and used it to make transactions without my request. Whatever you do, I reiterate, DON'T JOIN THAT SITE! Im telling you it's a hastle because now I have to debate with them. Tomorrow Im going to contact them and give them an earful and deservingly so. I cannot believe the nerve of some people in this world? It just goes to show the bloodthirst of some people. Vultures I'd like to call them. Vutlures.

Anyway, just thought I'd create this thread as a heads up!

Sorry, can't answer this question. I simply don't know. All I remember is conversing with one chick on there and then I lost interest.

I'll be honest, I hooked up with a few chicks from match.com. It's just a way to meet women if you don't go out to the bars anymore. I never learned how to pick up chicks at the grocery store. I have a rule that I don't date chicks that I work with. I don't go to church. I gave up drinking. How else am I going to meet women?

And guess what, It says it as plain as day somewhere. You just didn't bother to read it, because you were to excited about all the possible hookups lol.

About ten years ago, a buddy and me were postulating the nascent 'net dating sites popping up on the 'net. I told him about a site featuring Russian women.

All of the ladies we magnificently beautiful, lithe, well educated and worldly. I went on to describe, in researching my curiosity on this, that it common that folks like him and I, charter members of the proud society of OLFA's (Old Farts) could easily find a striking beauty half our age for marriage partners.

He said, "let's hop on a plane and go get a one. . ." I said, "yeah, it's easy to get a 25 year old Russian lady. But, according to my research, they would only stick around for 2 years. . .the time it takes to get a green card".

He sipped his brew and thought for a few seconds and said "That's OK, we can just go back and get an new one".

Oh yeah? You bet I could do something about it.

I could dispute the purchase to my credit card company and not pay it. Which is exactly what Im gonna do. And they would investigate the matter at hand. Then, report my credit card as lost or stolen so they freeze it right away and that would negate any people, i.e, mate1.com, who try to make unauthorized payments without my request.

I think dating is pretty easy for Americans in a lot of other countries, especially the more poor ones. I bet I could've had a date every night in Madagascar if I was single and looking.

I think internet dating is a very healthy thing. I have 80 year old men in my congregation who have taken up internet dating and are having such a great time. And they've met some amazing women as well. I've also had several friends who have met the love of their lives on match.com or eharmony.... I'd say just be careful what site your using.

My mother in law recently started looking at this mate1 site. Oh man, she's encountered some idiots. Hopefully she listened to her daughter in law and ran far far away!!!!

First off all, buzz off with the ignorance.

No, I didn't realize it. But thank you for informing me on that matter. I just recently looked into it under their terms and conditions policy and it stated that if you do not cancel within their 3 day trial they automatically bill you as a monthly fulltime member.

It just happened to be one those things at the time when I signed up I never put any thought into reading their actual terms and conditions. Now, Im a better person for it because I've learned. You live and you learn.

By accepting the terms and conditions you agreed that if you don't cancel it in the 3 day window....that you gave them permission to charge your credit card. If you try and dispute the purchase....it's going to cause you a bunch of pain and problems.

Like you said....it was a mistake....learn from it and move on.

Ive tried, regardless whether I win or lose, I disputed it anyway.

But, what I did do was contact Mate1 and told them I wasn't aware of their terms and conditions policy so they were kind enough to refund me for 1 month back, instead of 2. I was billed for 2 months.

They gave me a confirmation # for cancelling my subscription, and told me to look out for my next statement on my credit card bill and that they would credit me the money back for 1 month. So Im happy about that. However, Im still going to email them and notify them that I cancelled my subscription. I plan to print out that email and keep it if they ever try to bill me again just to ensure that I cancelled with them for proof and verification purposes. Good to do that if a case were to arise in the future.

And you are honestly lucky that they agreed to refund you one month. A lot of companies will reply with a "fuck you...you agreed to the terms" and leave it at that.

It's best to stay away from "free trials" or "3 days for $1.00" offers. That is unless you can cancel before the 3 days is up....and you have written confirmation that it's been cancelled in time.

When I did go out to the bars a few years back, I just wanted to drink and have a good time without the overhead of "trying to impress the ladies". So, I bottled that up and put it to use online. I met my wife on True.com, but before that I met quite a few broads online that resulted in SEXY RESULTS.

Of course, the problem is signing up for some of these shitty sites are determining whether the women are:
- real
- attractive
- interested
- not towing 3 kids away in secret
