And no, Simply Red, I'm not referring to interior design. I'm of course referring to military decorations. Also, who has been awarded the highest decoration and what was it? Medal of Honor? Navy Cross, etc.

Thanks.

But seriously I know of one Planeteer that probably ranks up there but I'm not outing him because I found this out while doing the care packages for the troops project. and he wanted to keep the information for that private.

*snickers softly at the thought of being considered a "badass".*

It's not like I was in combat. Could have been if Desert Storm had gone much longer, but didn't happen. Most of my awards are for stepping up and doing jobs no one else wanted to (NCOIC of a high-visibility field problem, taking over a disfunctional unit and getting an award from FORSCOM because of the turn around, etc.).

Nope, there're a whole lot more badasses around here than me.

My dad has a Bronze Star as well for service in Desert Storm. He's never really talked to me about it much. I think he keeps it hidden away somewhere. One night after a few drinks he told me that he didn't think he deserved it. Kinda sad.

Yeah it's different, EIB involves land navigation, first-aid, range scores and some others depending on what the regs were when the person earned it.

I don't have one. I have the standard ones that soldiers get as they serve and deploy overseas. I did have my Captain hand me an "unofficial" Bronze Star because due to our "unofficial" missions my award was not approved.

No to hi-jack this thread, but last year a member of our church came back from his 3rd tour in the sandbox. He is/was a Sniper, he has some very serious night terrors and tremors, it's been a year and he is still pretty messed up. He is on BAMF though, I've only heard stories from his dad, and a lot of the things he's having trouble with will probably haunt him until he dies.

We have an older gentleman at my church who is a Dr. and he served in WW2and came out as a Brigadier General. Smartest man I have ever talked to, even though he is older in age he is smarter on his worse day than most will ever be.

Over thanksgiving I found out one of my friends from highschool was KIA over in the sandbox, served in the army. RIP brother.
