Chambers or Charles.

Jamaal Charles, and honestly, I don't think it's debatable.

The KO return was all him, and he took some monster shots today in the running game, and gained some valuable yardage after getting drilled.

I would say Studebaker. Two big plays, one that took a TD off the board. First start, just a great story.

Although Charles had a hell of a game.

Charles on offense, Studebaker on defense. And Colquitt on Special Teams, of course.

Studebaker
Charles

That int return by Studebaker was huge, but you can't give him the game ball and not include Hali, who hit Roethlisberger's arm to force a bad throw for that int.

The defense. On paper the stats are not great but they pulled out some huge plays when needed.

I'm going Studie! Way to step up and make the best of his opportunity!

I'm very happy w/ Jamaal Charles stepping up. I'm glad he's getting the opportunity and making plays.

He did, especially that run near the endzone where he got popped and spun around and gained an extra 2 or 3 yds. Tough running today.

What about Brown with that 3rd down catch on the drive where we tied it up? (I think that's who it was, the little guy) that was nails.

I would call it a draw between Charles and Studebaker, with Chambers close behind.

Also...very important....he didn't put the ball on the ground.

It has to be spread around, no doubt about it. Not that it was gameball worthy, but DJ should get to hold it a while for that sack he made from way up in the air!

Gotta be Charles. Charles actually looked pretty decent today against the best run D in the league. Studebaker had a great game too, but I think that was more the result of being in the right place at the right time.

Guys who played pretty darn good:

Stoood

Hali
McGraw

Blah.

He had a real good sack today. But Mike Brown reacts to plays that come toward him. I have rarely seen plays where he actually goes toward plays to make them.

That's the difference between a playmaker and Mike Brown. Brown is around the pass to make the tackle. Polamalu anticipates and blows up plays before they can even happen.

So no, Brown doesn't get a game ball for playing reactionary defense for 98% of the snaps.

I went Studebaker because, let's face it, those were huge plays. Charles is worthy as well, particularly when you think about the opening kickoff.

Other guys who deserved to be on the poll might be Colquitt for that spectacular punt early in the game, Belcher for a couple of key tackles (I'm liking him more and more), McGraw for several key stops, Succop for being perfect again, and Wade Smith for being this generation's Glenn Parker.

I almost think that I'd vote for McGraw.

Steelers were the #1 defense against the run, according to the broadcast today. Had to go Jamaal.

charles in charge. he's taking full advantage of his opportunity to make plays. the guy is surprisingly effective as an every down back. he took some hits, and held on to the ball. while studebaker made some plays, the whole defense seemed to step up today and slow the pitt offense down. loved the play DJ made that was negated because of a penalty, he was actually being held up in the air by the pitt lineman when he made the sack.
