This is what we get when we have to many government employees with no real work to do. They make up silly crap like this and waste time and tax money shutting down a church free meal for poor folks. Its a twofer for a lib who hates churches and can exploit the poor to do it.

How dare the church feed the hungry when that's clearly the government's job. :banghead:

Isn't it likely that the neighbors complained?

You'd be amazed at the things people complain about to public officials.

This is the crap that pisses me off. I hate the insinuation that as a conservative I don't care for the poor or lower class. I do care, I just believe in Charity given freely from the heart; not hijacked or forced through government redistribution. We didn't have as huge a healthcare issue when you had church-run hospitals and clinics that took care of all people regardless of payment. Yet the anti-religion socialists came in and demanded the government take over and ran the charity hospitals off. We didn't need food stamps when neighbors and churches would take care of each other and buy groceries. Those days are long gone along with the moral standards they represent. Why? IMO it is because of the continued attack on churches and religious charities. I can't wait for the day when charitible donations will no longer be tax deductable. I can forsee it coming down the stretch IMO.

How do you feel about federal funding going to private charities? You may have heard heard, this administration has just given tens of millions of dollars in grants to the Catholics. Just wondering if this is the anti-religion socialist attack on churches and religious charities you speak of.

That's just the execution of the current law. They didn't make up new stuff to punish the church. The church can pretty easily go and get qualified to serve food.

I don't agree with it. I believe that God, Allah, etc. expects us to give from our heart. If you have someone forcing you to give; it pretty much negates the purpose of giving. The attacks I'm speaking of started a long time ago. Prayer in schools, Califorinia's attempt to stop homeschooling/Christian schooling, IRS using the tax exempt status as a tool to keep pastors, rabbis, and leaders from speaking out too much on the political spectrum of this country. Those are many of the examples. You may not see it but over the past 100 yrs the progressives have been taking step after step to eventually eliminate religion; so that the government can have even more control over the people in this country. Again just my observations in what I've read, and seen in history and today's current events.

It's a corrupting activity. Whether it's intended to be or not, I don't know.
