It pisses me off to no end when people look to guys like these as "representatives" of the Christian faith. Robertson is a bassackwards relic and doesn't represent a true Christian IMO. A true Christian would be praying their hearts out for the people down there, as well as giving or helping however they can. There will be people though that will equate this with, "Oh you see how Christians view this situation!". :shake:

How do any of us know if what he's saying is true or not? The only way I can see someone knowing this definitively is if they are a "non-believer" or an Atheist. A Christian would still have reason for suspicion as we were not there when the alleged pact was made

Robertson reminds me of the senile grandpa at family gatherings who goes off on crazy rants. Then, when he falls asleep, everyone gathers around and goes, "Holy sh*t! WTF are were going to do with grandpa!!!?"

If I thought for a second that God was the way he believes God is, I'd become a satanist.

How many of you have posted against PR, just because he represents himself as a Christian? How many because you disagree with what he said? How many just to follow the crowd?

Personally I don't listen to him. TV preachers are not respectable for the most part.

That's not what I said, but then again you missed the comment that I don't listen to him, nor did I watch the video posted here. I have little, if any, respect for TV preachers. I asked simple questions. There are posters here that will attack anything that smacks of religion. I was just looking for some answers from those people.

Your answer is apparent.

If you're a Christian, and you believe that God is out to smite his creation, then you missed the ENTIRE POINT of Christ.

Smite his creation? Christ gives us the way to salvation. I have no idea what form of judgment God may hand out for egregious sin.

Should you end up in Heaven, you can ask God why things happened they way they did. I have no answers and can't say why PR would say the things everyone says he did. Why did Harry Reid say the racist things he did? Nobody knows and nobody has a free ride on the earth. (other than illegal aliens)

It is my understanding that Zeus after drinking all night with Dionysus was pissed off at Robertson (formerly known as Hades). It was a simple misunderstanding thinking Dionysus was saying, Haiti said this, and Haiti said that. Unfortunately he was just drunk and slurring the word Hades. Zeus finally had enough and decided to teach Haiti/Hades a lesson. After learning of his mistake Zeus was reported to have said "that one is on me, my bad"

Seriously though Robertson is a POS.

Good for you for knowing what a TV preacher is. Many don't. I heard a bunch of them on local radio yesterday going on about how God did this to Haitians to punish them. Unfortunately, many or most non- Christians hear that and come away with the impression that many or most Christians would share the same views.

Obviously, there will be many more people of all faiths donating and volunteering than there will be condemning and judging.

I finally listened to what he said, I wouldn't have gone there but most here seem to be taking what he said out of context, but the view they have of Robertson is shaded quite a bit.

He didn't wish death on them, he did not judge them. He did say that they were cursed. Look at their history and the history of the Dominican Republic. Why is one doing well and the other not doing well? I don't have an answer, but I'm not going to damn what he said just because many of you feel it's not the Christian thing to do. You are willing to call a spade a spade in other types of conversations, but not here? Why?

Do a google and look away from those links that tie to Robertson. That belief has been around for a long time. There are some interesting reads in the links, most older than the current outrage over what Robertson said.

For what it is worth, this is the longest piece I've heard him speak about anything. If I surf onto a channel with him on it I get about 4 seconds before continuing on.

I once was told by a Presbyterian pastor that anyone who thinks he knows the mind of God has created a god smaller than himself. I believe that.

I don't know Mr. Robertson, so I can't really say what he thinks he knows.
