View Full Version : Poop The Intelligence of DC

Okay,

I'm just curious what the feeling is here. Please put aside your partisan blinders for a bit and try to answer honestly.

I think that both the liberals and the conservatives on here both have some fairly equal standout intellectuals. There are definitely people on here from both sides more intelligent and knowledgeable about... well everything... than me.

That being said, when you talk about the low end of the intelligence spectrum, it really does seem like there are some truly dumb fucking conservatives on here. I mean, bottom of the barrel fucking stupid. Admittedly, I'm a liberal, so maybe I'm just biased. I honestly don't see that many liberals on here who I'd truly consider to be morons (insert joke about OP here).

1.) KC is a midwest sports team.
2.) The midwest is predominantly conservative.
3.) This board therefore is predominantly conservative.
4.) Your poll results will obviously be skewed regardless of the actual truth of the matter.

Well, for one thing in the grand scheme of things considering the economy and BO, you have to be a complete idiot to think that fixing the economy is going to happen by creating more money out of thin air/creating more debt and causing inflation.

Seriously the democrats view on all of this is "Don't worry we'll just throw more money into the pot, It will all go away soon."

That's a valid question. I don't honestly know that there's a good measure of what equals "intelligence." Some of these people who I consider to be "dumb" are probably way more successful financially than I am... so who is the real dumbass? I'm just saying that some people on here come off as truly stupid when they present arguments or participate in debates.

The stupid liberals on here mostly continue the Bush-bashing blame game for the way the government is being run on here. They get knee-deep in partisan politics and treat debates like soccer matches. It's their team versus the other team.

The stupid conservatives on here do the same thing, but alongside that group are racists and morons.

So I voted the stupid conservatives dumber.

I also think that it might often be a problem with reading comprehension and written expression, so the way a person appears to be on here may not accurately reflect their real world intelligence. The opposite is probably also true: someone who has good writing skills may come off as more intelligent on here than they actually are in real life.

(So my last two posts are probably more reflective of what I'm trying to explore with this thread than the rather provocative OP).

Dumb liberals are more likely to cut and run from the withering intellectual fire of DC's thoughtful conservatives whereas people like me will stick around no matter how much I get owned so I voted like I always vote... conservatives. I don't think there's a big difference though.

I can solve this for you- even the dumbest conservatives have a job and buy internet access, so they're able to post.
The dumb liberals sit around collecting government money and buy cigarettes instead of internet access. The only time they can post is when they wander down to the public library, infest it with body odor and halitosis, and log onto a computer.
Then they go home to not look for a job.
You few liberals with jobs and brains skew the curve.

You few liberals with jobs and brains skew the curve.Could be, but it doesn't explain talk radio. Somebody spends a lot of time listening to that stuff. I would guess that most are conservative (although certainly not all) and somehow have time to listen. I'm not going to make a completely baseless statement about them being unemployed (because I honestly don't know), but I would guess that some don't have jobs.

Time to listen? Radio is easy. I heard people with Limbaugh on at two places where I worked. Radio can be played on the drive home from work. Gotta a long drive? There's the time right there. I wake up to a clock radio and lay there for a half-hour listening to it before I can get out of bed.

Now how much time per evening do people watch tv or log onto the internet? It's not hard to get a least one hour of talk radio in every day. Even can be while tinkering in the garage on weekends.

How do we measure "dumber?" There are some dumb-ass people on both sides of the fence, but there are indisputably more -- in number of posters -- on the conservative side just by virtue of there being more conservatives posting here. Does the numbers [dis]advantage make for a measurement of "dumber?"

Look at the poll results

A) Why wouldn't that be a factual distinction for people as opposed to a partisan linked reply?

B) This poll hasn't been up very long, were the drive-by conservative grenade chuckers able to get a shot at it, or were it posted in the Lounge, the results might be very different.

C) When were the prior occasions you originally referred to?

4.) Your poll results will obviously be skewed regardless of the actual truth of the matter.

Clearly this poll is not skewed towards any actual truth on the matter.

As for part B, this thread has been up a couple days now. If there are as many conservatives in this forum as stated, there should be plenty of opportunity to show a bias. And posting it in the Lounge is stupid because NewPhin's question pertained to the DC forum only.

As for your part C, I can't remember and don't want to look it up. I don't even know what I would search for. It'd be impossible. But I've seen it before. I know I have.

I actually thought about distinguishing you guys from the conservatives, but I knew that an argument would ensue where you all took umbrage at not being labeled the true conservatives, since you often see yourselves as such (a sentiment with which I agree for the most part). Anyway, I did think of you ;)

So far, you are correct, I WAS WRONG and I admit it. This poll has not been skewed to the right. I am very surprised by that. If when you said it was untrue that this board would have a conservative bias was based on this thread only and not as supposedly evidenced previously (because I still have not seen that), then we agree on this.
