That was just reported on Fox. A whopping $250 bil over 10 years??? WOW! Stop the fucking presses!!!

You know, even though it seems pretty clear that Obama is pulling this out of his a$$ due to the MA election, I'm fine WHENEVER and WHATEVER POTUS reduces spending. Period.

I don't see this as a "reduction" in spending. Unless I am confused by the definition of the word "freeze"?

Well, I presume that they aren't going to take the money and spend it elsewhere.

But they aren't cutting spending either. They are just saying, we won't spend more. And only for a very small piece of the budget at that.

It's sort of like saying "I was going to buy a new car, but I didn't, therefore I saved $15,000".

If it was money the were going to spend and are now not going to spend it, I view that as a positive.

Is that because of the interest that wouldn't have to be paid on the spending we don't have money for?

That sure is a lot of savings giving the fact of spending more then 3 trillion a year on budget items and who knows what off of budget for the next 10 years.
