Pork improves sex life, says Argentine leader'It is much more gratifying to eat some grilled pork than to take Viagra'

Argentinians reacted with surprise after their president, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, said in a speech that pork is better than Viagra, and suggested she's personally proven it.

The Associated Press
BUENOS AIRES—Argentina’s president thinks eating pig meat is really sexy.

Many people in this beef-loving nation reacted with surprise Thursday after Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner promoted pork in a speech during which she not only said pork is better than Viagra, but suggested she’s personally proven it.

“I didn’t know that eating pork improved sexual activity,” Fernandez de Kirchner said in a meeting with representatives of the swine industry late Wednesday. “It is much more gratifying to eat some grilled pork than to take Viagra.”

She even joked that “it was all good” after she enjoyed some pork with her husband, former president Nestor Kirchner.

“I think they might be right,” Fernandez de Kirchner said to a laughing audience.

The president’s half-joking speech in which she announced subsidies for the pork industry won prominent play on television and radio stations, prompting discussions on whether Argentines should add more pork to their diet.

Argentines are among the world’s biggest consumers of red meat, and most people here stubbornly reject the idea of replacing beef with chicken, pork or other meats. Despite Argentina lying along rich South Atlantic fisheries, seafood is rarely seen on dinner tables.

Fernandez de Kirchner approved subsidies to keep the price of pork low despite inflation, and her government has also recently subsidized red-meat producers after beef supplies sharply declined in the South American country.

The head of the association of pork producers, Juan Luis Uccelli, supported Fernandez de Kirchner’s speech by saying that Denmark and Japan have a much more “harmonious” sexual life then the Argentines because they eat a lot of pig meat.

“In Osaka, Japan, there is a village in which the people who reached 105 years old and ate a lot of pork had a lot of sexual activity,” he told Radio Mitre.

Is bacon technically a pork? If so, the bacon explosion would be a great appetizer at my next orgy.

For some reason she states it has to be grilled pork. It all works for me though. Heck, sometimes I get aroused just thinking about going to work.

I want to have an orgy but my wife wants to wait until we finish the back yard and paint the kitchen. I'm like, "Honey, these are our friends! It's not we have to impress them".

Really, she worries too much about appearances.

So hypothetically, if a guy wrapped bacon around his ... you know ... and then he got a woman to give him a ... you know ... then the bacon would keep feeding her lust and the act would never end as long as a steady supply of bacon was available and could be refitted while she was on the exhaling half.

Maybe you should sneak some bacon into her breakfast cereal.

I recently saw a video on Hog farming... and how brutal and inhumane they can be. Cutting off ears, tails and balls with no pain killers...

Tons of pigs in metal crates, not being able to move... Living in torturous scenarios.

I honestly doubt I will ever eat much meat during the rest of this life. I won't be a Veg nazi, but the inhumanity to these animals is sickening.

There are responsible, ethical farms out there from which to obtain meat from. The Kansas City area is blessed with many of them.

Read, learn, eat well with an eased mind

In addition, KC has one of the strongest farm-to-table dining scenes in the country; the good (non-bbq, non-ethnic) restaurants will list on the menu what farm provides what protein for which dish.

Its my pleasure to share it. If not for getting to know some area farmers and meat purveyors I wouldn't buy hardly any meat at all. Reading The Omnivore's Dilemma a few years ago and it shook me to my core. I had to find some farmers who I could go and look at their operation myself if I wanted to, farmers who have the integrity to treat their animals with honor. Thank goodness that those farmers exist, and in larger numbers than even a decade ago.

Don't take that as the norm.. They of course make those videos for entertainment purposes. If they can't make it interesting nobody would watch.

That being said , it's not economically viable to have a veternarian come in to sedate every pig to have its tail docked and castarated. That is normally done when the piglet is 24-48 hours old. They get over it quickly and are healthier for having it done.

Those producers that are left in the industry are the ones that do things right , do things ethically, and care about their animals. Hogs are not like cows , you can't just turn them loose in a pasture and hope they survive. They are nowadays raised in controlled settings and environments for their own welfare. They are fed the healthiest nutrition imagineable and kept warm and comfortable at all times. Hog farmers learned a long time ago if you don't take care of your animals they won't take care of you. So feel free to go ahead and eat that pork chop without regret.

Ah, the old catch 22. I do a bbq all day. Drinking beer, smoking pork. Then I get all horned up and snuggle up to the wife. She says "you smell like shit". Game over
