Who on EARTH would want that guy to be President again? Honestly. I mean, wow.

HonestChieffan

What the message is is not wanting him back, how conservative he was, or any of the above. Its a simple statement, that many seem to agree with, that Obama and what we have is not as good as what we had.

On a competency score, we have less now.

*Raises hand* I do. He had his problems. He needed a better Secretary of State and another Press Secretary like Tony Snow, but his administration was far better and far more competent than the current guy. And as improbable as it might have once seemed, he's also far more fiscally responsible.

The very top reason I miss him (and his best-in-class VP), is that if he were still in charge there's a strong chance that he'd get to replace at least one and maybe as many as two or three liberal SCOTUS justices with conservatives. One such replacement would have meant a world of difference in US jurisprudence over the next decade or two (and maybe even longer). No right thinking conservative, even a Ron Paul conservative, can make a reasonable case against that long-denied opportunity (we're talking 75 or 80 years here). Who knows if we'll get another opportunity like that. The dems are bummed because they might fail at health care reform after just 16 years. That blown opportunity wouldn't even come close to the opportunity conservatives lost when Obama was elected.
