Saw it today at 1:40pm. (Why? Because I got out of work at 1:30pm and had nothing else to do, and I don't pay for them.)

Not bad. Sort of "Harry Potter Lite" aimed at younger (or dumber?) kids. Had some fun with the Greek mythology, and a surprisingly solid cast of adults: Catherine Keener as his mom, Sean Bean as Zeus, Pierce Brosnan as Chiron, Steve Coogan as Hades, Melina Kanakaredes as Athena, and Rosario Dawson as a smokin'-hot and ridiculously f**kable Persephone. It's directed by Chris Columbus so it moves along well enough, albeit with a lot of explanatory dialogue for the kiddies in the audience, and includes all the high points of mythology (centaurs, minotaurs, satyrs, harpies, and Uma Thurman as Medusa).

I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but it's a mindless way to kill two hours.

One of the "teens" in the cast is Alexandra Daddario, who is actually 23 and attractive, although not in a way that everyone will think unanimously (think Lucy Griffiths as Marian in the BBC's "Robin Hood"). But her eyes are ridiculously pretty.

Looks like fun. Appropriate for a 7 year old?

Yeah, I think so. Rosario Dawson's cleavage might lead to questions, LOL, but aside from that there's only some implied sexuality. The lead kid's buddy turns out to be a satyr, so he's constantly chasing chicks. :D (Nothing too scandalous, though; some quick bikinis, some girls in a casino, and Dawson gives him the "come hither" finger-crook.)
