We video'd my sermon Sunday in hopes to upload it on Youtube and then post links on our website, etc. The video is a tiny bit over 20 min long.....I have never tried to edit a video before and I don't really want to edit it, I just want to cut it in half and then upload it in two segments. Will uploading it do that for me automatically or is this something I actually have to go in and do in the program?

You'll have to do it yourself by splitting it into two (or three) different files. It actually might let you upload the whole thing then automatically cut off after the first 10 minutes of it. I'm not sure, though. Regardless, to get the second part uploaded, you're going to have to split it up.

Like NewPhin said, you have to chop it into two parts. Youtube only allows 10 minutes per file.

If you want, I could do it, it wouldn't take but a couple minutes.

If you want to make it smaller, as in filesize, you could compress it with virtualdubmod. Which would also chop it up into parts for you if you want. If you want me to walk you through it I'd be happy to.

Of course there is but you'll need some at least a semi-professional video editing program capable of creating Quicktime or mpeg compressed files.

so, what kind of rating would this "sermon" get?

Ah, I was hoping you would say Vista or Win7 because I know they have the capability to edit video, especially something as easy as just splitting one file into two. I am not so sure about XP. Seems like Claythan would be your best bet.

This is all a clever ruse by Jilly because she doesn't know how to split her porn into sections.

I don't think Jilly is the kind of female who watches porn. What with the "sermons" and all.

Right....that is the wink part...it is all for the study of procreation. That is why all the BJ's, anal and shit have to be taken out.

it's not reading it as a file.....I'm tryign to convert it into an all file situation, but it's taken an hour so far just to do 50% of it.

I tried to burn it onto a cd, but it's too big for that even.

IT'S PISSING ME OFF!

And no, it is not porn. I would never try to do that at work.

I would. I have to leave for a while as my mother in law is having surgery, but I'll be back later this afternoon.

You know if you just throw the file up on rapidshare and send me the link I can take care of it:

So I used this program to conver the file to MPEG4. Windows Movie Maker is still not recognizing it.

Go Chiefs....while I appreciate the offer of help, I'm hesitant as having this video out there for anyone to have access to me, who I am, and the connection to my church. No offense to you, it's just the precaution I have to take.

Try to convert it to AVI. I have Vista with Movie Maker and know for sure that it opens AVI.

it didn't. I've downloaded converters, etc. etc. Nothing is working. I finally converted it to DivX, but still can't edit it. I'm trying to work with the program now and a friend of mine is helping me in doing some other stuff with it.

Camtasia studio works, too. Pretty simple. Edits AVI.

How large is the file as it exists: 1 gig? 2 gig? 3 gig?

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/trials/moviestudiope

Go there. Download Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and install it. It'll run for 30 days as a trial, fully featured. You can buy it later if you like on Amazon for $69 dollar or so.

Once it's installed, let me know. I'll walk you through editing and encoding your video.
