Don't want to go much over that. Are there any good ones out there for that price?

I just use my G1. It's really worth it having a phone that can double up as a GPS system when you're driving. Not having to buy a separate device is pretty nice.

But to answer your question: Tom Toms are pretty nice and they're in that range.

Garmin 205 is what I use. It is under $100 right now as well.

I can use my phone, but the gps on it sucks. It tells me my destination within 1500 meters. That leaves a LOT of room for error. I'm getting tired of printing off directions everywhere I need to go, plus trying to read them while driving is a bitch.

If you're looking for just a GPS device then Garmin is, rightly so, the industry leader. They have many more points of interest in their map system than any competitor.

Just donít drop it, these things donít handle being dropped very well.
Thatís how Mrs. Radar killed her Garmin.

Thatís how Mrs. Radar killed her Garmin. My experience was better than yours then. When I was rolled in my van last year our Garmin was thrown all over the place and still functions perfectly today. It had also been dropped on a hard wood floor once as well. Still going strong.

I don't know how much the Nuvi 350 is now (or its equivalent), but I take mine on every trip and it has never failed (even in Canada, eh).

The Nuvi 265wt is what I usually recommend. It's a step above the 205, but adds some perks like a widescreen and free lifetime traffic. It can be had for around $160 if the sale is right.
