<script id="genVideoInit<% genVideoInitTS %>"> espn.video.embeded.play(); </script>The Indianapolis Colts (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ind) re-signed middle linebacker Gary Brackett (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4811) on Friday, and a league source said his deal was for five years and $33 million, including a $12 million signing bonus.
Brackett, 29, is a seven-year veteran who has been the Colts' starting middle linebacker since 2005 and their defensive captain since 2007.
He had been looking for a contract commensurate with those responsibilities, and last week Colts owner Jim Irsay said he was prepared to make a commitment to Brackett "competitive with some of the top-notch guys at his position."
