Nice read. Two of my favorite sports people: Self & Poz.

BTW, great tweet from the POZ:

"Browns give $7 million to Jake Delhomme for 2 years. Good move. That's probably less than $150,000 per interception."

It doesn't hurt to be at a school that has a basketball reputation that pretty much "self-recruits" top talent (see what I did there?) without anything or anyone else having to do too much.

It doesn't hurt to be the birthplace of the sport... you are right.

Is your name Sherlock Holmes, perchance? :p

It also doesn't hurt that Self actually teaches proper defense (coughcoughthanksalotRoycough).

Yea, but come on, let's not pretend KU sucked before Self got there. One of the main reasons I hate KU was the way they worshiped ole' Roy Boy. Kansas has a reputation that draws top talent regardless of who is the coach. That is all I am saying. That's like saying the Bulls and Lakers were\are awesome because of Phil Jackson. Nevermind he was coaching some the of most talented players in the history of the game.

I think it's pretty obvious that Self has proved his worth at KU and his former coaching stints.
