Making my first trip to vegas tomorrow for March Madness. We are staying at the MGM Grand. There are about 10 of us going out together and I am guessing we are going to have a very good time. Any place I need to make sure I go check out? What say you Vegas regulars?

Rent a Ferrari and take it to the desert. It is worth the money.

All I can tell you is that I personally believe that this is one of the greatest weeks of the year to visit Vegas. I was a regular out there this time of the year before I started having kids.

ENJOY!

I'm at the airport getting ready to leave las vegas. Tired and ready to get home. Vegas is hella fun but very draining.

I'm in LV right now getting ready to crash. Been a good day for business but the fucking craps tables have been arduous. :cuss::cuss:

Those crap tables will burn a hole through your pocketbook quick.

Play Keno to make it last much longer, plus you can bullsh*t with the old folks.

Mirage, Luxor, and then hit the old Strip.

Yeah I always carry a spare roll up rug just for this possible occurrence.

I've only been once, in '04. MGM is a good location, south end of the Strip. You can walk to all the good casinos except the Strat and the downtown area, as the Strip runs from the Mandalay Bay up to around the mall and the Wynn before thinning out (Circus Circus, couple of other ho-hum spots). The Rio is off-strip but worth a trip, as is the Hard Rock.

If you like to party, there are a bazillion bars.

If you don't like to party, simply walking the Strip and checking out the architecture is fun. Inside the Paris, the Venetian, Caesars... the shops... The little Disney-like attractions (lions in the MGM, tigers in the Mirage along with the volcano, the pirate ship at TI if they still do that, the coaster at NYNY which isn't very good but will rattle your ass around, the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, the Luxor used to have some stuff, etc.,.).

The monorail wasn't built when I was there but supposedly they put all the stations on the back sides of the casinos. So walking from the monorail into the casino is probably just as long as walking up the Strip and poking into each one.

Somewhere around the Harrah's, I think, is a Ghirardhelli (sp?) ice cream shop. Go forth and pig out, their stuff is very good.

Take my word since you're going for March Madness, take the monorail to The Las Vegas Hilton and check out the mecca of sportsbooks there,it makes all other Vegas sportsbooks look pitiful.

Also,a head's up,March Madness is so busy that most casinos set up huge ballrooms with tv's and private betting cages just for the tourney. The Flamingo for instance even allows you to bring in your own coolers.
