A quick google search of 'Heinz 57 recipe' will find several that are similar so I'd guess they are close.

You can't have fructose?

You'll need lots of rasins to make it.
Oh yeah, and shitty steak to put it on.

I thought that was A-1 with all the raisins. It very well could be 57 as well.

Just looked it up. Takes raisins.

Raisin Puree
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup water

1 1/3 cup white vinegar
1 cup tomato paste
2/3 cup malt vinegar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon yellow prepared mustard
2 teaspoons apple juice concentrate
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon turmeric

1. Make the raisin puree by combining the raisins with the water
in a food processor or blender. Blend on high speed for 1 minute
or until the puree is smooth. Measure 1/4 cup of this puree into
a medium saucepan.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth.

3. Turn heat up to medium high and bring mixture to a thorough boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 1/2 hour or until
thick. Let sauce cool and then refrigerate it in a covered container
for at least 24 hours.

Makes 3 cups.

I don't use steak sauce on steaks, but I love A1 on fries and hamburgers. Heinz 57 not so much.

That's good to know splat. Heinz 57 on a steak = rope.

I try to stay away from high-fructose corn syrup but, unless you have some sort of deadly allergy, the fructose in Heinz 57 shouldn't make a difference to you unless you're drinking a gallon of the sauce a day.

Heinz 57 is gross.

Can't believe you posted a thread about it.

Drink a lot of unfiltered wheat beer. Collect your runny stool the next morning and combine with mustard.

You mean the all-natural fructose, made from all-American corn? Corn raised on American soil, by American farmers, and not tooth-rotting sugar that comes from places like Venezuela and China and Afghanistan? You mean the clean-tasting, flavor-rich fructose that provides the same chemical reaction as other sweeteners? That fructose?

This post paid for by the American Fructose Council.

Oh crap!!

How about if I cut back to 1/2 gallon a day?
