Some of you are in construction, so I figured I would see if I can get any feedback here. I am in charge of getting about 7 tons of gravel for our church, and was quoted $268.00 delivered from a local business. It's ODOT#304 limestone (probably wont mean much to anyone here), dont know if anyone would know if this is a good price or not, it sounds very reasonable to me.

You should be able to buy 304 at around 10.00 per ton, not including delivery or installation. Check Columbus Limestone on Jackson Pike.

Don't know about limestone...but I got 50 tons of base rock delivered here to my place awhile back for about $500. He had to haul it about 15 miles per load...

What is involved? Rock and hauling? Rock, Hauling and spreading?

I just made a call to my cousin in the business. A 16ton load delivered is around $250 here.

The rock itself for road rock is $11.30/ton

Prices may be higher there, and trucking probably depends on how far they have to haul it.

Wow that's high. I'm in a rural area....I know an old guy that likes to stay busy between his school bus routes. Our base rock is bout $5 per ton at the quarry.

I suppose it depends on how abundant the product is in your area.
Size and quality of the limestone affect it also.

Yeah I found some other prices, and it's not cheap anywhere around here. Of course these prices included delivery. The cheapest I found is $12.45 a ton.

IMO, $268 delivered for 7 tons of anything is a fair price.

I think that $268 for 7 tons of bloody urine is WAY too much.

That's just one man's opinion though.

we don't use 304 but KS AB-3 is $17.80 delivered. That is the standard for drives and subbase around here.
