The only reason the bacon runs away with this heat is that I'm assuming that the majority of CP'ers haven't sat on a dock in Sillery Bay with a chicken neck tied to a piece of twine dangling in the water and a long handled net dipping for crabs. Taking those home and then steaming them up while they are covered in Old Bay is one of the greatest culinary smells in the world.

nnnnnno.

For voting purposes, I'm assuming that it's an upscale chicken restaurant where you have great rotisserie chicken on spits dripping juicy goodness while you drink mint juleps and watch the horses run in the Kentucky Derby.

And if it's got anything to do with cockfighting, just let me have my dream unfettered.

Sesame Chicken smells great. Blue crab sounds good, so I voted for it even though I've never experienced it. Summer desert is relaxing, spearmint is refreshing and bacon frying will probably be in the finals.

Tough group today. I only had three that I can say I really enjoy.

Don't know the name of the bay, and we used drumsticks rather than necks, but when I was stationed in Ft. Meade in the late 80s we spent many a Saurday morning/afternoon catching a basket of the little critters to eat that evening.

I never caught them myself, but when I lived in DC we used to drive up to Annapolis and eat soft shell crabs. Fantastic

Other than the pipe smoke, nothing really lept out at me. Although I voted for the blue crabs just because that sounds really tasty.

I travel to DC, Linthicum, MD, Chantilly and Arlington several times a year. Love crab cakes. Have crabbed. Nothing about any of that smells good to me. Crabbing smells like stinky-ass ocean fish smell to me.
Guess its all in the nose of the beholder.

We've got a real dogfight going for the #5 spot.

Blue Crab is by far may favorite. Finding it around here is nearly impossible. Every now and then hyvee will have it but I aint paying what they're asking for it.

It only let me vote once for bacon. My mind can't get past it.

Sorry about that. It's a software limitation.

I'm surprised the coconut oil one is so high. I voted for it even though I don't actually think I like the smell. Brings up good summer memories, though. That's probably what's behind it's success.

I apologize for not getting involved with this sooner...so I apologize if it's been covered...

Public pool in the summertime?? Was that in any of the past or future heats?
