Mr. Laz

probably only our lowest 5th round pick in cost to trade up for Clausen now

'Hamas' Jenkins

Well, it is Detroit, but I give them credit, they didn't pick a receiver.

It's been just about all you could hope for as a Chiefs fan. We get Berry, lots of entertaining movement and Broncos trade up to take Tebow. Only thing better would be trading into one of the last two picks for Hughes/Kindle/Clausen....all really good value at this point and all potential difference makers.

That's fucking laughable beyond compare.

Brees was a guy that fell because people said he was too short. He lived and breathed football and by every measure was a leader and a loved teammate.

This makes Clausen even more appetizing, because now you don't have the pressure to play him right away, as his contract will be very manageable.

The Rams are on the phone as we speak with teams looking to jump in front of the Vikes to draft Clausen. If he manages to drop to us, then great. If not, Cody's still a damn fine option that shouldn't have fallen this far in the draft and become an immediate starter for us.

the timer stopped on the saints. something may be up.

I don't really know how it works, but my guess would be that St. Louis can't jump the pick until tomorrow when the 2nd round starts so the Saints have the luxury of extra time without fear even though the clock ran out on them.

That's fucking laughable beyond compare.

Brees was a guy that fell because people said he was too short. He lived and breathed football and by every measure was a leader and a loved teammate.

Clausen is supposed to have all the tools but is an asshole with an ego problem. That is why he's falling. Apparently it's very real and everyone seems to get this except some planet posters.

Yeah, except some people (obviously not you) may mature as they age.

I'm not. Their apparent lack of interest in him at #5 leads me to the conclusion that I'd rather they go with a WR or an OLB who can rush the QB with 2a. Or even a NT if they think one guy stands out above the alternatives.

I read it more as a strategic move. They knew Berry would not fall. There was, however, a good chance Clausen would fall. So they took Berry and kept an eye on Clausen. Why draft a guy at #5, even if you love him, if the odds are he'll be around much later.

The guy fits our defensive scheme perfectly. We need a BIG body in the middle to free up LB's and open up the defensive playbook. "Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy in play," Schefter adds. The top remaining offensive linemen -- Charles Brown, Rodger Saffold, and Vlad Ducasse -- could also be "in play" for tackle-needy Buffalo. The Browns would figure to be targeting a passer. Cleveland, in particular, has the ammunition to move up. They do need a WR soon. I think it's going to take a great offer to move them out of #33. Fortunately the Skins aren't in this discussion because of the McNabb trade, or I would see them trying to trade out to add picks.

I think it's awesome because there are so many options that I'll be happy with right now:

1. Stay where we are and draft Clausen.
2. Move up and get Clausen.

Here's my thing. Either we want Clausen or we don't. If we want him, we may have to move up to get him. But if we don't, we should sell like hell that the Browns want him...badly. Leak it, Tweet it, do whatever you need to do to convince the Bills that they aren't getting a QB if they don't move up. Especially if Minny takes McCoy. University of Texas outside linebacker Sergio Kindle plummeted out of the first round reportedly due to concerns about his long-term health.

According to Rivals.com, Kindle might need microfracture surgery on his knee.

“There are a handful of teams who have graded Kindle as a ’serious’ medical risk because of his knee, which one team said looks like it could require Kindle to have microfracture surgery,” per the report. "According to some teams, Kindle’s medical exams showed a series of trauma on the knee that could limit his career. If he slides past the Patriots at No. 22, he could slide out of the first round, and there might be more than hot air behind the murmurs about Kindle’s knee.”

Plus, Kindle takes prescription medication for narcolepsy and attention deficit disorder.

The knee is a source of real concern, the others aren't.

Kindle remains a dynamic pass rusher. If a team is comfortable with his knee, then they'll draft him today in the second round.
