View Full Version : NFL Draft What do you think of Stuckey?

This should probably go in the draft forum, but I wanted more opinions. With the Chiefs already having drafted a safety high, I don't see them getting a guy like Taylor Mayes. I don't follow mock drafts so I don't know where the so called experts are predicting he will be drafted.

What say you guys? Where do you think Daryl Stuckey will be drafted and would the Chiefs take him?

The Chiefs don't have a 6th or 7th round pick, so no.

The Chiefs don't have a 6th or 7th rounder. That's where he belongs.

So are the mocks saying he's a 6th or 7th round prospect or is that your guys' opinions?

I thought he would go a little higher due to a good showing at the combine.

Here's a little snippet I found on the LJW website.

Stuckey adds to excitement
An already big week got a little bigger for former KU safety Darrell Stuckey, who, earlier in the week, became engaged to girlfriend Lacie Reed, the older sister of KU basketball player Tyrel Reed.
With that part of his future mapped out, Stuckey now can focus on the football element. Stuckey plays one of the draft’s deepest positions, and that could impact his status.
Kiper has Stuckey as a potential third-round pick of the New Orleans Saints, saying: “The Saints should get a safety sometime within the first four rounds, given (their) uncertainty at that position.”
CBSSports.com has Stuckey rated as the fourth-best safety available, and that falls in line with his NFL combine numbers, which consistently placed him among the top three safeties in Indianapolis.

He'd be ok as a fifth.

He'll be drafted in the 4th.

Meier in the 5th or 6th.

Briscoe might go tonight.

You can't call Stuckey a 7th round pick with a straight face. . . unless you are a MU homer.

I thought that was quite obvious. Such jealousy.

Quintin Scott>>>>>>>Stuckey. If we are going to take a safety in the 4th round or so, we should take Scott before we even think about Stuckey.

Hmmm, I don't know. Sounds like a Pollard.

Tackling: Likes the physical aspect of the game. If a receiver is in his path, he will wrap him up and plant him. Likes to lower the shoulder as well, whether dislodging the ball from a receiver or aiding a teammate in making a stop. However, ducks his head too often, trying to grab a leg even if in position to blow up a running back and receiver near the line; will whiff against elusive ballcarriers. Looks for the hit instead of wrapping up in space at times. Susceptible to cut blocks due to his height, needs to feel those blocks and use his hands to defeat.

I have no problem with Stuckey. I would prefer to have Scott or Rolle, though.

Kerry Meier goes before Briscoe? lol

Maybe we can bring him in as an UDFA.

I didn't want to make another thread to clutter up the front page.

Move along.

The nature of the thread has changed. Briscoe is a more interesting prospect.

Stuckey was obviously the best Safety in the draft. Did you see what he did against Mizzou?!?

Dude, are you dumb or did you just miss the previous post that reported Stuckey was drafted in the 4th round by the Chargers?

I started this thread because I was only wanting to know what the consensus was on where Stuckey was projected. No KU homerism and no MU anti KU crap. Guess that was unavoidable.

In any case, congrats to DS. He's a really good guy and its nice to see him finally have his dream come true.

As for the comments about Meier and Briscoe: Meier went about where I thought he would. Was kinda surprised Briscoe went so late though.

I think the fact there were so many good safetys kinda hurt where Stuckey was drafted
