I'll start.

I remember watching my Chiefs win a Super Bowl. I've been to a Super Bowl in person.

But, nothing can top seeing your team win a World Championship live in person, being able to share that moment with your son, a 5th generation fan. How many people get to do that in their lifetime? It took an incredible amount of luck and natures fury to make it happen, but it did so....it has become my favorite sports moment.

As pathetic as it sounds, Grbac to Rison against the Raiders. That game occurred at or near the peak of my enthusiasm as a fan, it was against the Raiders, and it was a lightning bolt out of the blue.

I haven't experienced too much glory from my sports teams.

1. UW 1991 football National Championship
2. Chiefs making the 92 AFC Championship game
3. Seattle Supersonics making the 1996 NBA Finals

In an odd coincidence, I met the running back from that UW team a couple of months ago. He's a realtor here in Denver. Someone told me about him later and I looked him up.

1. Royals winning the 1985 World Series (In that title, I particularly remember the 3 run double by Sundberg against Toronto in the ALCS and of course Game 6 of the WS.)

2. Chiefs beating the Oilers in the playoffs (and Keith Cash's spike on the Buddy Ryan sign.)

3. Hawkeyes beating Michigan State on the last play of the game this year.

Yup. Not just what happened, but more of "how it happened"

That's one of the best NCAA championship games ever.

Probably the Maryland basketball NCAA Tourney championship. Extra special because it was something I could share with my sons, and also because I had waited so many years for it.

Chiefs SB victory comes in 2nd. Obviously at the time I had no idea at the time that I'd still be waiting for another 40 years later.

98, 99, & 09 D2 NC games, particularly 99, watched all three in person.
MU/KU 97 basketball - watched in person.
MU/KU 07 at Arrowhead - watched in person.
Royals 85 WS - although being 8 yrs old at the time I obviously had no appreciation for just how special it was

1. The one time we went to the Royals with the grandparents [wonderful grandparents, we just never happened to go to the Royals with them], and Grandpa told me about the rally cap [putting your baseball cap on inside out] in the 9th inning. We put them on and third pitch thereafter George Brett hits a walk-off HR.

2. Dane Iorg - I can still recall all of us jumping around the room. Fortuitously, we'd only gotten TV earlier that year [mom gave our old one to Goodwill when I entered elementary school, and we originally only got the one we had then to use with the Commodore 64. I'd been doing a ton of programming in JHS].

3. Danny and the Miracles.

4. Chambers

5. KU beating the FUCK out of NC the game prior

6. Keith Cash

7. 1991 - Chiefs Bills 33-6

8. Unbeaten streak against the Raiders under Schotty

9. DT et al showing Ryan Leaf the door.

10. DT's called safety.

11. "Lord you can take me now' on MNF.

My own personal was Pony League All-Stars best 3 out of 5 advances and there we were in the 5th game, bottom of the 7th losing 6-5 with a man on second and two outs and Nzoner is at the plate and hits a walk off home run to send our team to the next city and tournamnent.

The ball was retrieved but I was too excited to care and later that year at a banquet I was presented a trophy with the ball in a gold glove and it had been signed by the entire team,I lost that trophy in a fire :(

Best Moment Part I
Jaguars @ Chiefs New Years Eve 2006.

I hadn't been to a game all season long and my girlfriend's mom got us the best tickets I'd ever had through someone at her work. It was the game we had to win, but even if we won it the playoffs were still just a prayer. We had to beat the Jags and three other teams had to lose at home for us to get in. I made an 11:11 wish that every team would lose and we would win. The game was fucking awesome. Pollard fucked up a punt and I remember be so fucking stoked watching him run for the ball. I'd never been that close to the field before. We won the game, and as we were leaving some funs were cheering in the parking lot that two of the teams that needed to lose did. It was all up to the niners. I chanted let's go NINERS all the way home.

Part II
The Broncos Game

Champ picked one off and run it back. The broncos were gonna win, they were at home, and the playoffs were on the line. All SF was playing for was a worse draft slot. Then suddenly they came back and took it to overtime. I was out of my mind drunk and I thought for sure the fucking game was going to end in a tie. A FUCKING TIE, NO PLAYOFFS FOR US. And then the Nedney kick. I lost my voice for a week from screaming. I was so fucking happy. Got on Chiefsplanet, like twenty threads about how everyone had this magical day and everyone was so happy except for mecca i'm sure.

It was fucking sweet.

1. "What Tom Brady just did gives me goosebumps" followed by "The kick....right down the pike.....Adam Vinatieri!...And the Patriots win Super Bowl 36...unbelievable. "
2. Ground ball. Pokey Reese. To Doug Mankiewicz. The Red Sox beat the Yankees to win the 2004 ALCS. Red Sox beating the Yankees made it bigger than WS
3. Red Sox beat the Cardinals to break the 86 year curse
4. 1/12/86. Mosi Tatupu scores the TD to clinch the Patriots first SB berth. It didn't matter they lost to the Bears. The Patriots went to a Super Bowl
5. 1984 NBA Finals. The Whole Classic 7 Game series. Celtics over the Lakers. Game 4 in LA was basketball at its best.

1.) Northwest Missouri State football wins its 3rd National Championship in Dec. 2009.
2.) The previous four years where Northwest Missouri State football narrowly avoided winning its 3rd National Championship
3.) Hey, the Orlando Magic had a nice run last year.
4.) Goddamnit there isn't anything else of note.

Live in person: 1981 Wichita State come back win in the NCAA regional, from 15 down at half, against Iowa. It was just an unbelievable experience.

Not in person: George Brett standing on second base, with arms raised, after getting the double to put him over .400. There were so many great GB moments, but that one stands out the most, just barely.

Gus Johnson calling the K-State vs Xavier S16 game is still fresh in my mind. I doubt I ever forget the ups and downs of that game.
