The A's have some good young pitching. Good for Braden. Now maybe A-Rod will take him more seriously next time they play.

Considering they play 162 games a year, and baseball has been around for well over 100 years and this was barely the 19th Perfect game ever. Wow.

First of All, the Rays have been Perfect Game'd 2 years in a row.

Secondly, talk shit about A Rod, then throw a No-No, people will give you more credit.

Thirdly, His mother passed away when he was in high school.

Really? It's that rare? I guess it just seems to me that I hear or see a perfect game at least once a year.

Thats alot of perfect games in a 26 year span compared to the previous 80 years or so, especially when you throw in the fact that this is the juice head era.

I think its probably due to expansion and inequality. I haven't looked it up, but I wouldnt be surprised if close to half of those perfect games were against weak teams, where before with fewer teams there were fewer reasonable chances to embarass an opponent with a perfect game.

Seriously, as bad as the Royals are, at least we can say we did not give up the last 2 perfect games. Ray fans need to be wearing bags on their head tomorrow.

Forgot to put that into consideration. It makes a little more sense now. Still dont want to take anything away from Braden or any of the other guys who have been perfect. Especially Johnson and Buehrle, who have a perfect game and a no-no to their credit.

some of it may have to do with the fact that hitters think it's ok to strike out now...less balls in play

He did it against one of the best teams in baseball so no way you can downplay it anyway.

Had it been the Nationals you could question it. Regardless it is damn hard to do.

I probably win 2 more categories if he was in for me. I cut him for Michael Stanton who i hope will be called up soon.

They still have the second best record in baseball. I think they'll be okay.
