The Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/KAN) last held practice on Thursday and at one point during the session, QB Brodie Croyle (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2361/Brodie_Croyle) walked off with a finger injury. According to reports, he hit it on a helmet throwing the ball, which sounds painful.

That was five days ago. (http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/5/27/1490215/chiefs-otas-mccluster-bowe-look) Apparently, the injury is enough to keep Croyle out of practice once again this morning.

The Chiefs are running with three quarterbacks so Croyle's presence at workouts (in shorts...in May) isn't exactly necessary. My guess is that it's more precautionary than anything.

But of course with Croyle's injury history it's fair to wonder how long something that is seemingly a little injury will keep him out. If it's more than just a bruise, it could keep him out for a while because we think it happened on his throwing arm. But anything more than that is just speculation.

There were seven other Chiefs that missed practice. We'll have updates shortly.

Man I really wish he was more durable, then we might not have to deal with the Cassel/Hutard deep ducks that get thrown around out there. :shake:

The idiots who want him to be the starting QB should apologize.

nope, not necessary. Doubtful he ever sees the field anyway. we don't count on him for much...he can hold the clipboard with his good hand.

and of course Pioli and Haley will probably never tell us what the injury is.....

The self-important, double-secret stuff is just so stupid, IMO... just tell us if he busted his finger or not. How in the world can that be a competitive disadvantage for the Chiefs to tell everyone that? EVen if it's broken, he'd be back by training camp.

I'm all for protecting players during the season and not giving away anything you don't have to week to week about who is going to play, etc. but sometimes I think Pioli and Haley believe they're actually fighting terrorism rather than playing football.

Ha.... nope. 0/3, actually.

I like what the Chiefs are doing. They still have holes on this roster, but I really think they're headed in the right direction, and I have more hope for them this year than I have in 4-5 years... Pioli knows what he's doing, IMO...

it's just the secret stuff that drives me crazy... seems really stupid...

Always remember that whatever is said to us fans is also said to teams we will be facing and even the slightest piece of information can be used against us when it counts.

Why? If he had Cassel's ability to take a piss-pounding, we'd actully have a QB.
