Our business currently uses a email blast program similar to Constant Contact for our monthly email newsletter. We end it to about 12,000 people.
I'd like to ad a new service we are calling "alerts" which quick, more timely notices often reforwarded emails we get that we think these same people would want to know about.
My first thought was that we would just use a regular email distribution list and plug in all 12,000 names into it.
However, another idea I had was that we'd like to put these same notices on our website. We don't currently have a blog, but it's the perfect reason to start one. What I don't want to do is create more work for myself or others.
Ideally I'd like to find a blog software that functions like or is linked to an email distribution list. So that I could post the "alert" on the blog and in doing so all 12,000 people would be emailed the notice in a reasonably friendly. Ie, not a twitter like short notice, not embarassingly ugly, etc.
But I'd want the "unsubscribe" functionality of a distribution list and the robust email functionality that can handle 12,000 people.
Any ideas? Anyone know much about WordPress?
