I was at the mall over lunch looking for some new basketball shoes and spotted Dexter McCluster. I went over and told him welcome to KC. I stood and talked to him for a good 30 min. He was very personable. He even called me sir which was weird because I am only 30. I am anxious to see what this guy does on the field this fall.

30 minutes????

Shouldn't he be working out or something.....Yeah, stupid bum spent 30 minutes interacting with a fan. An ILB or NT would have said "Hi" and went back to pumping iron and studying game tape.

Damnit Scott!!!

You talked to the guy for 30 mins and all you have to say is he called you "sir" and was very personable?

Sorry, but that doesn't cut it. We want more details! We want more information. Surely, after speaking to the guy for 30 minutes you must have talked about a lot of stuff. Let's hear it.

We talked about everything from Coach Haley to where to get the best burger in town. I told him I saw on here he was spotted at Five Guys and I told him he needed to check out Blancs. He said he was looking to buy a place on the Plaza but was a little worried about all the crap going on down there.

I got to get to an appointment.......I will try to post more later

Were you pestering him or something? How in the hell did you guys talk for 30 minutes? I can't even talk to some of my friends for 30 minutes.

Something about this made me think of Andre Rison. I'll never forget when he was in Springfield on his way to Branson to judge the Miss USA contest and he stopped at the mall and dropped like fifty grand. Then the checks bounced.

He was actually asking me questions, too. I was the one that had to go when I took off. He didn't know much about the city so he was asking about where to find things.

No kiddin. You shoulda told him how awesome BWillie007 is and that he should supply him free tickets that he can sell to ticket brokers and not claim the income.

Wildcat09: You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when the mall brought Dexter to me, I knew he was one of my own. I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added one more guy to my wolf pack. Two of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Kansas City, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

I had to edit, obviously, but you get my point...

Why do I get the feeling that every brother with a small frame and dreads in the KC metro is being called Dexter right now?

30 mins to me sounds a little long to me but if Dexter didn't mind I guess more power to you.

Must be a really nice guy.

I wouldn't be able to cut it if I where in his shoes. Who's to say the next person he ran into didn't want to chat for 30 mins?

Or you could have told him if he wants to start a Hog farm all he needs to do is buy gilts because you have a buddy that can supply all the boar semen.

I wouldn't doubt it. The kid that was working at the store was like "you play football?? For who??"

Did you tell him that everyone was initially upset that he was drafted, but now more than 50 percent seem to be satisfied?

As an aside, my science partner in 9th grade wrote in my yearbook, "You're a guy I thought I wouldn't like, but I did." It was my first inkling that maybe I don't make a great first impression.

Guilty. I'm actually happy we drafted him now and I think he will be a pretty explosive player.

Doubt it. NFL teams keep hundreds of shoes at their facility.

I know. My point is...he wouldn't have to go buy another shoe because the Chiefs have hundreds in their own facility.

If I were a small framed "brother" I would be sure to pretend I was him as well
