Priorities, no water purification but great venues for soccer.

I bet the players are excited.

Between games, they get to go out, have a few cocktails, maybe hook up with some chicks and catch AIDs.

It's an investment that brings in millions in revenue! Isn't that what the sports teams tell us when they want the taxpayers to build the buildings for their workers to perform in?

I noticed in the first pic that there is almost no parking lot. I guess the fans are all coming on foot or mass transit. Not having to pay for all those acres to park cars has to save a few dollars (or whatever the local currency is called).

That is what I was thinking as well. South Africa isn't exactly a poor country.

Does South Africa have any use for these stadiums after the World Cup is over? Are they going to run soccer rec leagues out of these bajillion dollar fields of grass?

I've heard that the local citizens are supposed to get either cheap or free tickets, but they were supposed to go online and register for them. The problem, I guess, is that so many of them don't have computers or internet access, so they had to set up kiosks in shopping plazas where the lines can get ridiculous.
