As I have mentioned before, I am traveling out to KC in September to see the KC vs. SF game. Flying into MCI (which is days as you know from arrowhead...), but I am curious if you guys had suggestions as where to stay?

i.e. Fri night would be nice to stay somewhere near some bars and whatnot,
and Sat night it would be cool to stay near Arrowhead; question: is there anywhere you recommend staying that is "walking" distance to the stadium (or some kind of public transportation)?

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Any tips on things to see would be cool too (so far, just the game and Boulevard brewery is on the list, so not much planned out yet lol).

Any gameday recommendations? I hear arrowhead tailgating is some of the best in the NFL...

how about this...where is the stadium in relation to...well anything to do in KC? Is it practical to stay near the stadium and still have access to good bars/nightlife whatnot

Of course it is. I mean. You have to drive wherever you go, but there are places. The stadium isn't downtown in the mix of tall buildings and such. But there are many things to do after the game.

Stadium is about 15-20 miles from the bar districts.

I recommend downtown near Power & Light district, or the Country Club Plaza. Both have lots of bars/restaurants within walking distance. Both are KC,MO.

Bing maps and Google maps will give you the hook up.

We stayed at the Westin in Crown Center last year which was nice. The Raiders ended up staying their and I saw Al Davis in the morning. Not the best way to wake up. I'm assuming the Niners will probably stay there too. We got a great deal through hotwire last year and I'm hoping to luck out again. My wife is a big Niners fan so we will be going to this game as well.

Yeah, opponents always stay there. It's not too far from Power & Light; short (maybe $10) taxi ride.

When you come here, don't tell the locals that the worst restaurant in SF is better than the best restaurant in KC.

That doesn't go over real big here...

Not at all. Our fans can talk some shit, but hospitality is very much still alive in the Midwest. As long as you're not wearing a Raiders or Broncos jersey, you'll be fine.

-honestly, Cardinals fans have been prob the "chodiest" I have seen so far (prob due to division rivalry). I don't care about shit talking and what not

Parking is $22, unless it went up from last year.

Hotels depend on how much you're looking to spend. If I need to stay someplace cheap, I stay at the Super 8 in Overland Park. Rooms are kinda small, but clean. It's a little bit of a drive, but doesn't take long on the highway.

Near the Plaza, I like the Marriott. It's not directly on the Plaza, so it's not hard to get in and out. Parking garage is kind of close quarters and is charged on top of cost of hotel. I think it was $13/night, but they didn't charge me last time. I know which one it is on hotwire, so i get it for about $75/night. Not far from Westport either.

A few blocks from the P&L District, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Was nice, and the location was worth the price since I could walk to the District. Pricy though.

I've stayed in one across from the stadium, but I don't remember which one. I didn't pay for it, so I didn't pay too much attention. We still drove to the game to tailgate though.

Best deal to park by far.

I'll see some fans go at about QB fights (Alex Smith vs. Shaun Hill - this was last year). Do some of them start over Cassel?

Theres a Mariott in midtown you could choose between Westport or The Plaza. Both are walking distance and cabfare wouldn't be much either. PNL is ok if you like douchbags, overpriced drinks, and chain bars.

That Marriott is the one I like so much. Newly renovated. The king bed rooms are suh-weet. Like I said, price is good if you find it on hotwire.

Boulevard tour is pretty cool. Are there others?

Boulevard is the king of breweries in KC. Some food places I'd suggest in that area: Westport Flea Market, McCoys, Jackstack, Classic Cup. Thats just a few and alot of cool bars in that area like I said. Easily my favorite part of the metro area.

Also for tix i'm not sure how long you want to wait. The week of the game visiting teams usually turn back tickets and sometimes you can get some pretty sweet seats. A few years ago when the Chiefs played the Niners I was able to get some gret tix on the 40 yard line visitors bench.

yeah, if I wasn't coming from out of town I might have wanted to wait, but now I am not sure. Looks like decent seats will run around $130 w/o their extra charges...

...ok another question...

any thoughts on seats that are at the corner of endzones? I have sat a lot of places but never there (i.e. Sec. 106, 132, 124 at arrowhead: http://www.kcchiefs.com/tickets/seating.html)

-I have sat at the 50 before, good view of the whole field, but not really close to anything
-Endzone: great views 1/2 the game + fieldgoal post blocking your view

-I am thinking these corner seats would be good to see some action close, but still see stuff downfield. What do you guys think? (note: neither of our teams had sensational offenses last season, so who knows how often they'll be seeing the endzone lol).

I've sat in the corner endzone it was OK. Tickets go on sale in late July my guess would be you should be able to buy tickets for the niners game. How many people are you coming with?

Ive sat all over arrowhead. There really isn't a bad seat there. The corner seats are ok. I never had a problem with seeing the field. The seats are Really close to the field so if your in the lower level you should be able to see. The tickets aren't for sale yet.
